Now he's the 5th or 6th option, you're worried they'll let his talents go to waste?

Were you hyping his talent 8-9 months ago or were you complaining that the Jets had no NFL level corners like seemingly everyone else?

I wonder if a guy like Walls, who - I agree with Joey - has talent, would have any trade value.

Yeah, that will give them a chance to assess if the CB position is as strong as it could be and also if they have needs elsewhere.

If you could only keep 3 of therbs, which would you keep?

For me it's:

Ivory - The best back on the roster who should once again get the most carries.

Powell - The best receiving back on the roster and maybe the most well rounded.

Stacy - I'm on board with spreading teams out and then hammering it up the middle out of single back formations, and Stacy is the 2nd best north south runner on the roster.  The team has been pretty lucky with Ivory staying relatively healthy, but if he were to go down, I would feel comfortable with a Stacy / Powell Tandem.  Stacy is also the only other back with more than one year left on his contract.

@marc55 Ridley will not even compete due to injury.  He's just insurance for later.

@jetsjerk @marc55

I'm not especially high on Ridley and wasn't particularly excited about the move, but we might be writing him off too easily.  Out of all our backs, he's the only one with a 1,000 yard season to his name.

The injury probably hurt his chances more than anything though.

Looks like Anthony Muñoz does not share the opinion of some posters here that the players want care about Sheldon's suspension.

I'm inclined to believe a legendary HoF NFLer has better insight into a NFL locker room than the members of the Kool-Aid crew who keep repeating emphatically that the players on the team don't care about the lack of professionalism shown by Sheldon in recent months.

@Disgruntled Jets Fan @bob Looks that way, but ya never know.  Perhaps, these kids are drunken punks that habitually destroy his property and ridicule his authority.  Perhaps they threaten his Son and create an unsafe environment.  But probably not.  They may deserve a beatin', but they're not his kids to beat.  So, anger management classes.  Anybody got Jack Nicholsons number?

I can't read any of these articles, the amount of script that has to load before you can scroll down to read, isn't worth the wait! This site included.

TJB takes a very long time to load, longer than just about any other site I visit.

Also, TJB frequently crashes my ipad, sometimes wiping out whatever other windows I have open.

And of course the livefyre UI scks.

And all the irrelavent sh on the left and right hand sides of the page eats up over two-thirds of my screen, so that this thread, for instance, is physically smaller on my ipad screen than on the screen of my iphone.

But as we all know, we made these complaints back when livefyre and the new format were first introduced here, and SNY did absolutely nothing about it.

Which is the main reason I don't visit, or comment on, this site anywhere near as often as I did pre-livefyre.

Livefyre is just too unpleasant an experience to deal with very often.

hitchhiker—

Yup, that's exactly what I said on more than one TJB thread when the then new site deign was introduced.

Actually, a number of us said it back then.

And SNY did—and has done—jack sh about it.

@BenNevis TJB has serious compatibility issues with iOS.

SNY should be embarrassed that they can't create a website that runs properly on a tremendously popular platform like iOS.

@hitchhiker They're definitely not screening ads very well (probably not at all) - there was one that would auto-initiate a link to the app store for some s**tty game.  That's a big no-no.

"A lack of pass-rush ability allowed the Jaguars to pass on him. The Jets will need more out of Williams (a 3-4 end) because of Sheldon Richardson’s four-game drug suspension to start the season."

Perhaps it was our glass-jaw seconday?

The Jets will be 2-2, they will beat the Browns and Phins. Tanny won't be able to deal with a killer Jets Defense!

jetsjerk

@UncleJoe Fins can go either way, but Philly is a transitional mess.  We will beat them.

Looking at the schedule I think the Jets start off 1-3 beating Cleveland and losing to Indy, Philly  and Miami.Richardson might have made a difference and got another win. Then the Jets will tear off four wins vs Whashington, Pats, Oakland and Jacksonville. Then its gonna be a war vs the Bills. Thats as far as my blurry crystal ball goes this Sunday morning.

UncleJoe
UncleJoe

@levi What does your crystal balls say about Geno, if they do in fact go 1-3?

jetsjerk
jetsjerk

@levi I think we will beat Philly, go 2 and 2, and Geno keeps the gig.

levi
levi

@jetsjerk  That could be the case. Thats a close call. If Sanchez plays Jets odds go up.

levi
levi

@UncleJoe  I only have one crystal ball, I didnt get implants...

Geno will struggle but remain the starter. Joe Haden will pick him off week one too and the fans will immediately call for Fitzy.

@MikeFrancesser

With the Jets defense,  the team should be in every game.

With Geno Smith at QB,  every team we face will be in the game against the Jets unless he overcomes his tendency to turn the ball over at a high rate.

levi

@MikeFrancesser All 4 games are winnable yes. The Jets are all learning new systems with all new coaches though and that usually makes for a rough start. Losing Sheldon really hurts the team through this transition as well. They could really take advantage of that suspect Indy O line with him. Lets hope Williams comes out of the gate playing well.

MikeFrancesser
MikeFrancesser

Eh. All four of those games are winnable. Indy is far from a great team, they just happen to have a great quarterback. They still lack any sort of a defense and still have a very suspect offensive line and running game.

The Stacey article is interesting.  Brings up a point though: if Ridlet is not competing due to the imjury, then he's insurance for later.  Does that mean Stacey is not competing for a spot either. But rather, competing for playing time?
