News: Glavine in 2008

According to Kevin Kernan in the New York Post, “Tom Glavine wants to come back for a 22nd major-league season.”

Glavine, among many other statements, as quoted by Kernan…

“I have to wait and see, but as far as going out there and having fun and doing the things I have to do to be successful, there’s been nothing there that makes me think I am going to walk away…

“Surprisingly, my kids are more on the side of me playing next year than not. I think that is in large part because they understand what I am doing. They enjoy coming to the ballpark and being around the guys. They like the game of baseball.”

Since July 24, spanning his last nine starts, Glavine is 5–0 with a 2.72 ERA, during which opponents are hitting .265 against him.

…he’s been great, and so consistent…

…look, i’m all for bringing him back…the thing is, how many starting pitchers will this team have next season…

…honestly, i can’t even think about this right now…

…so much will happen between now and the hot stove season, for us, for the team and for glavine, that this almost does not even seem worth discussing
