Need to Know: Lucas Duda enjoyed his second multi-homer game of the 2014 season, opening the floodgates against Kevin Correia with a three-run bomb in the third inning that extended the Mets’ lead to 5-1. He added a solo shot in the ninth along with an RBI single in the seventh, and totaled five RBIs on the day. Bartolo Colon was solid over six innings in his first start since his mother’s death, allowing just two runs and striking out five. Travis d’Arnaud and Ruben Tejada added home runs of their own against Correia, and Daniel Murphy went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI.
What’s Next: The Mets are off Monday as they travel back to Citi Field to start a three-game set with the Braves. Dillon Gee (4-6, 3.84 ERA) will try to bounce back from consecutive starts allowing four earned runs against Atlanta’s Alex Wood (9-9, 3.05 ERA), who has allowed just seven earned runs in his last 33 1/3 innings.
