The Mets have announced nine players will be added to the roster before tomorrow’s game versus the Brewers.
In addition to Marlon Anderson being activated from the disabled list, INF Ramon Martinez, C Gustavo Molina, RHP Carlos Muniz, LHP Jon Niese, RHP Robert Parnell, RHP Al Reyes, 2B Argenis Reyes and LHP Ricardo Rincon will join the team in Milwaukee.
Reliever Ricardo Rincon was returned to the Mets today after being loaned to the Mexico City Diablos Rojos in April. Rincon, a left-hander, was 0-2 with two saves in 42 games for Mexico City this season. He struck out 23 batters and walked six in 35 1/3 innings.
The veteran reliever has been assigned to New Orleans, but according to people connected to the team, he’s a likely candidate to join the team when rosters expand on Sept. 1.
…I’m not about to say Rincon is the answer to any of the bullpen problems or anything like that, but keep in mind that the park in Mexico City is actually at a higher elevation than Coors Field…
