Tonight I can see Capuano playing Boulton. After watching that Flyers/Penguins game the other day, we could use the extra toughness against the Flyers. I'd still love to see Grabner get in there, but I'm not sure who would sit.

I think we need a gameday thread.

Rangers look very very good.  Going to be tough to beat.  I just hope we get a chance to beat them.

better team with Grabo in the line up.

He gives the line up greater depth concerning scoring and defense, and the coach more options..

@rmbbanned2 but doesnt score much,,,, Grabner & MacDonald score more often then him this year

@redly @rmbbanned2 who knows what people play like coming back from a concussion. They could be afraid of the net. Look at nash last year

@redly @rmbbanned2 You can't just focus on his scoring.  Look at all the different line combinations since Grabbo has been out.  He helps stabilize the lines.

Islanders not playing tonight, and none of the games tonight will affect the Islanders' playoff position.

But the second best thing to an Islander win is a Rangers loss. So, let's hear it for those BJs !!

@puckdad99 stop caring about the rangers and focus on your own team

@puckdad99 Well I guess no enjoyment for you tonight then: Rangers tie the game with 27 seconds left in 3rd period then go on to win in OT.

@lolz @puckdad99

Who said I care about the Rangers? Who said I'm not focused on my own team?

Most Islanders fans enjoy it when the Rangers lose, maybe you don't.

Watched the third period. You just knew hat goal was coming. Bobrovsky was very good. Cls played a very good third period against the best team in hockey - bar none. I hope you enjoy that slice of "all the pressure in the world pie" when we hopefully play in he 2nd round. Isles with nothing to lose. :)

I thought of Grabovski as an expensive spare part since he was signed him. Looking at the Isles record without him in the lineup, he's either really good, or it,s a huge coincidence.

@isles23 where do you look to see these stats of his? when I look at these advanced stats I find him middle of the team in corsi & fenwick

isles23
isles23

He's really good. Even though he hasn't put up big points his possession stats are insane. What that means to the rest of the team can't be measured but it can be seen.

Our transition game has taken a big hit with out him. And IMO the biggest thing we miss is the change of flow he can create and set up for the next line. When he's on the ice the puck is usually moving in a positive direction. So even if the team didn't score on his shift the next one is in a better position coming onto the ice and will be on their toes in an aggressive forechecking mode instead of a defensive one. That is what Grabo brings to the team and what is missed.

Don22
Don22

@isles23 Also, when he is in the lineup it creates a more balanced line combinations.  When he is out, they are forced to put players together that don't necessarily work all that wel

Redly, sorry should've put it into context. When he was healthy earlier in the year he was 2nd on the team only to Leddy, who's numbers are also incredibly good. When he came back the first time it more than a few games to find his legs and that hurt his numbers. No different than how strome has more points than KO but we all know who has been better with point production when healthy.

I know you don't like Grabo but saying McDonald is better is just laughable

Milbury has got to be one of the biggest as---les walking the earth.  How he was allowed to run the organization into the ground for as long as he did is criminal.  The Tommy Salo arbitration is just a small sample of how much of an idiot he is.  Think about the mess he left for Garth Snow.  It took some patience to clean that up.  Go Isles!

islesfan77
islesfan77

So true IMO. What Milbury did seems to incredible. In his defense, i am sure of his deals were the result of the former ownership to shed salary.

@mrniftee ... Right on... Snow has had to rebuild the team and its prospect pool from scratch. Milbury decimated the team's "assets".

@mrniftee its not all that cleaned up yet..we still have 3 bozo's in the organization

Great article on all of the idiotic trades made by Mike Milbury today on Hockey Buzz.  Check out Bill Meltzer's Philadelphia Flyers column today.  It is a great read!

I didn't realize so many Isle fans like the Knicks. It be nice to fix this issue since it's been weeks, but can you at least acknowledge the issue.

I'm never using this site again. This is ridiculous.

this has got to be frustrating for the guys that run the site. how about creating a new page with a new domain aside from SNY? i like ipb but this is getting ridiculous. going to lighthouse hockey.

Don22

Will someone from IPB either fix this Knicks issue or at least post something acknowledging they know there is a problem and are working on it?

I am quickly losing interest in this site because I need to wade through an ocean of Knicks BS just to find Isles comments.  Enough already.

They've acknowledged it don. Judging by how long its been they obviously have nothing.

@Don22 many people, including phil jackson have tried to fix the "knicks issue" and failed.

@isles23 Someone in IT needs to be fired.  How do you let something like this go for so long.  My guess is they run on a shoestring budget from SNY and the IT guy assigned to them is an intern with a user's manual.

islesfan77

Everyone try to have some patience They have acknowledged the problem, I bet they would fix it if they could. it is free site for us to come to, let's not knock it too much. Now the videos ads that automatically play, well those are annoying. Haha.

@islesfan77 but it is weird that you will see them censoring the IPB blog at times if someone says something out of line, proving they have the ability to remove comments.  it cant take that long to manually delete knick comments that do not belong to the post

Where is Tyler? Want to start rebuilding, get Tyler here, rid yourself of Chris Smith, get rid of Felton, Shump, JR, Aldrich and Beno and get some guys that can run the floor and shoot. Oh yea, get a coaching staff non related to CAA and actually run practice and coach

Sad truth is NYK will most likely not make playoffs , lose Melo , fire Woodson and ultimately start from stretch the hard way .

OR

They can trade Melo at deadline to Clippers in a multiplayer deal with Tyson and others and getting younger and faster.

Dev Rangam
Dev Rangam

Been saying this forever. The Clippers r the only team that we can get full value for Melo. They r also 1 of the few teams that he would resign with to ensure team they can trade studs ie Blake, Deandre, picks. Trade Melo!

Gee Wally, if Bargs isn't rebounding, he shouldn't be on the floor. This, just after giving Chandler a pass for his rebounding tonight even though since Chandler has come back, Bargs has regularly out-rebounded him. Nothing like a balanced review of the players.

Mr.Boots
Mr.Boots

@Jerry Gee Last night, it was whoever is the strength and conditioning coach, tonight it was Murry. He'll eventually throw everybody under the bus but JR and Melo. But I'm sure that Melo, back in NYC, is spending this Saturday night resting his ankle and not going out on the town.

Woody saying Toure was the reason they lost the game. What a cokesucker!

Not that this is all Woodson's fault but what a disaster of a weekend. Hopefully the organization goes in a different direction.

tommy2b

He has to guard Stat or Bargnani's man as well as being the only guy who actually rotates and helps defensively.

Mr.Boots
Mr.Boots

@OLD_KNICK@Mr.Boots@ExpectTheWorst Since Chandler has come back, Bargs has out-rebounded him and, of course scored more points regularly. You just heard Wally make excuses for Chandler's numbers by saying he's "confused" and "out of place on the arc." You never hear them make the same case for Bargs.

Seems like Woody and the post-game guys have no problem trashing Bargs and excusing Chandler. Bargs can't perform 4th quarter if he's sitting or open constantly and not getting the ball. They are wasting what they paid for him. Look at the numbers.

Mr.Boots
Mr.Boots

@tommy2b He has to guard Bargs man when Bargs is stuck out on the arc on a switch or running out on a corner shooter that the guards can't seem to cover.
