The plan for Lucas Duda at Triple-A Buffalo

According to MetsBlog’s Meredith Perri, Lucas Duda will play both first base and left field while in the minor leagues.

Collins said Duda gets down on himself hard when he struggles and feels beaten at times, which gets him into trouble.

Collins took the blame for putting Duda in a position he was unfamiliar with in right field,  but Duda’s poor offensive performance was impacting the team – he wants Duda to find his stroke and feel comfortable while with Buffalo.

Collins said Duda is very disappointed to be heading to the minor leagues, but said he was determined to return to the Major Leagues.

Duda was hitting just .241 with a .335 on-base percentage, 12 home runs and 44 RBI with 42 walks and 94 strikeouts in 307 at-bats over 89 games this season.
