Morning News: RA talks return of Johan & Kilimanjaro

R.A. Dickey talked to reporters in St. Lucie yesterday, and had the following to say about the possible return of Johan Santana:

[jbox color="gray"]“I’m not getting my hopes up, but a high tide raises all ships. … I think everybody would be able to slot where they need to slot. That would take some pressure off some guys, maybe. … I’ve got my fingers crossed, but I don’t want to get too excited, because I know it’s a hard journey from the surgery that he had.”[/jbox]

To read more on Dickey, check out the Star-Ledger and New York Post, and to read how he compares climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro to pitching, read this report in the St. Lucie News.

The Rangers need a player like Phil Esposito to make the goalie sick to his stomach.

The problem with the Rangers is none of the top three lines look in synced (the 4th line has been the best line for a couple games). It's time for Vigneault to mix things up. Even the Bras line is not playing as well as they were before.

It's almost line the dynamic of the lineup has changed and all the players don't fit. Might be reading too much into this but we should try Nash-Richards-MSL, Zucc-Brass-Krieder, Pouliot-Steph-Hags and the 4th line remains the same. Something has to give.

Btw, Richards and Steph have been horrible the last few games, they seem to be skating in mud out on the ice, no legs or they look very slow.

I think other teams are finding it easier to play against the Rangers as they no longer have to worry about Ryan Callahan knocking them into the seats. It doesn't seem like anyone else has taken over his job.As far as I'm concerned he was the heart of this team. The Rangers need someone who isn't afraid to get in front of the goal tender.Jim

Kreider seems to be getting in front of goalies more lately.  However, he's definitely not doing the hitting Cally was.

@Jim Whitehill @rkj473  Yeah but two small bodies on the same line, i'm hesitant about that. Not to mention they would most likely be centered by Richards, who I wouldn't like centering Zucc and MSL.
