9:28 am: According to WFUV and MetsBlog’s Amit Badlani, the Mets have re-assigned Matt Harvey and Jeurys Familia to minor-league camp.
In addition, they also re-assigned Armando Rodriguez, Robert Carson, Wilmer Flores, Juan Lagares, Kirk Nieuwenhuis, Reese Havens, Josh Stinson and Matt Den Dekker.
The Mets now have 44 players in camp.
“I’m not happy about it,” Harvey told reporters, according to Badlani. “But I can’t make the decision, so I’m going to go out there wherever I’m throwing and do the best I can and keep working and try to get to the level I want to be at.”
Harvey said he is thankful for his time with Miguel Batista, who warmed up with him every day and taught Harvey how to ‘finish’ his changeup, slider and fastball.

As for Harvey and Familia, obviously this is not the last time we will hear from them. In fact, it feels more and more likely every day that they both will make appearances on the big-league roster at some point later this season.
