The Mets have claimed RHP Chris Schwinden off waivers from the Yankees, the team announced.
The Mets 40-man roster is now full – it stood at 39 after the Mets designated Justin Hampson for assignment.
Schwinden was 0-1 with a 12.46 ERA in three games, two starts with the Mets earlier this season.
The Mets designated Schwinden for assignment on June 1, and he was claimed by the Blue Jays on June 2nd. Toronto DFA’d Schwinden on June 5 and the Indians claimed him off waivers on June 6.
After spending 23 days in the Indians organization, Cleveland DFA’d Schwinden and he was claimed by the Yankees on June 29.
The Yankees designated Schwinden for assignment yesterday.
