Michael Baron: The Mets bullpen is completely absurd. It doesn’t matter who is out there – every one of them gives up runs, and they give up a lot of runs at the wrong time every time out. The amazing part about the bullpen is it’s getting statistically worse as each day goes on. When epic failure is predictable – and it has been for months – that’s pretty sad. Yesterday it was Ramon Ramirez, today it was Pedro Beato. Who is it going to be tomorrow? The worst part about this is it’s gone on since the end of April. Every internal option has been exhausted, and there is no reason to expect this group of relievers to shore themselves up and improve, even if Sandy Alderson gets reinforcements.
