Michael Baron: I’ve been very encouraged by Pelfrey’s last two starts. Today alone, he hit 95 mph on the televised gun on several occasions, had great downward action on all of his pitches, and mixed in a curveball to offer a different look as well. But what’s been most impressive has been his ability to use a consistent delivery from pitch-to-pitch and he’s controlled the tempo of the game – that is very important for him to succeed.

The Mets play their final spring training game tomorrow against the Yankees in Tampa at 12:05 PM.
