Andres Torres is day-to-day with back pain

Terry Collin said Andres Torres, who missed last night’s game with a back problem, will not be placed on the disabled list, according to WFUV’s Amit Badlani.

Collins said while Torres’ back isn’t good, it’s not bad enough for him to be placed on the disabled list – his status is day-to-day.

Torres has already missed time this season with a strained calf muscle this season. He is hitting .201 with one home run and 20 RBI in 59 games this season, although he has hit .266 against left-handed pitching this season.
