Zack Wheeler let up one hit during three innings of work in a minor-league game Monday, he said on Twitter last night.
“Felt good to get back in a game today,” he added. “Felt great.”
Wheeler later explained that he was mostly working on his sinker and change-up, so he ended up getting more ground balls than strike outs.
Wheeler injured his oblique taking batting practice back on February 27. Since then, he’s thrown off flat ground and threw live batting practice. This is his first game action since the injury.
