Wilmer Flores

Wilmer Flores and Gonzalez Germen are still sick

May 13, 5:55 p.m.: Wilmer Flores will return to the lineup on Wednesday, Terry Collins told reporters. Flores had been sick and has not appeared in a game since Saturday.

Gonzalez Germen was placed on the DL with a virus to make room for Jacob deGrom.

4:22 pm: Flores is available to pinch hit if needed, Terry Collins told reporters before Monday’s game.

3:58 pm: Flores and Germen were both unavailable for Sunday’s game due to flu-like symptoms

Flores is not in Monday’s starting lineup, though he said he’s feeling a lot better than Sunday (Star-Ledger, May 12).

Germen is still not well and may require a trip to the hospital (Daily News, May 12).

Lucas Duda missed Friday night’s game after being hospitalized with a stomach bug.

I'd love to see the franchise sold to the Rays ownership group (as a prelude to moving to Rays to Montreal).  We get their entire management team down to Joe Maddon.  I'd like their players too, but that too much to ask for.

SOUND SMART:  The Mets are so sick of losing that they are coming down with flu-like symptoms.

Fred Wilpon brother-in-law Saul Katz wants to sell his portion of team, tired of infusing millions.

Did a bunch of guys eat bad food or is it the flu?

It is not for me to say who plays sick and who doesn't play sick.  But when I was a kid growing  up, I never heard of this happening...you played no matter what...I guess there is just too much pampering with these overpaid ballplayers these days.

What would Ralph Kiner say about this?

While German has been nice in his role, maybe we should fill the spot in the bullpen. I don't expect many pitching duels against the Yankees over the next four days.

Have any of the Mets beat reporters written about what happened with Duda?

I can only imagine what it would be like to have a real owner, not one who can't afford the team now and thought we didn't need Piazza!

SELL KATZ! force WILPON OUT!

@Father Dooley  Ralph would say, "I once played in Pittsburgh with food poisoning and a hangover, and hit 2 home runs against Warren Sapp (meaning Spahn)"

@Father Dooley  Ralph would say "I nailed Liz Taylor and Janet Leigh----and you want to talk about puke?"

@SufferingMetsFan @Steven Glansberg  I'm more happy hearing this little blimp of hope than I ever have been watching this team this season

@BringBackDaveTelghe @ry110891  Maybe so when Parnell comes back but Mets need him pitching late in games to save leads rather than Valverde or Farnsworth touching the baseball
