Wilmer Flores is not in today’s starting lineup. He has missed five of the last seven games, and has just two at bats in September.
Terry Collins told reporters on Tuesday that Flores is “beat up,” as he continues to deal with a sore ankle.
In the meantime, Collins said it is giving the organization an opportunity to see more of Josh Satin at third base and Lucas Duda at first base.
Flores recently told MetsBlog’s Michael Baron that he will not play winter ball this season, instead he will stay in New York to continue strength training and work on his speed and agility.
