Honestly when will the Mets return to be in FIRST PLACE like they were back in 1969, 1986, 2000 and 2006??? Wilpons, need to sell the team ASAP, Sandy gotta GO GO GO and Terry Collins, you will never be a BOBBY VALENTINE, JOE TORRE, YOGI BERRA and DAVEY JOHNSON!!!

I hope Wheeler settles down. He's pitching to too much contact and definitely throwing strikes - too many, if anything. that's how you get the high WHIP, the high H/9 and the high K/9 with a low walk rate. He's competitive but could really use a guile to fool the hitters with pitches out of the zone or with a little more movement. If it's just his fastball in the strikezone vs. their bats, he won't win.

Maybe someone needs to talk to d'Arnaud about the game he needs to call, as well. Time for some constructive coaching.

Anything less than a series win over the d-backs is not acceptable.

Nice that Beltran played like crap at the end of his time with Mets and went on to play well for Giants, Cards and now the Stanks. Nice job Alderson. Jury still out on Wheeler as far as Im concerned.

Just a thought!!!!  Can we use Colon as a closer and bring up Montero?????????

Can someone explain something to me? Why does this team have so many players hitting under .200?  Most other teams (ah-hem, the Yankees) would never put up with this, so why do the Mets?

Does Ike have any options left ? when Chris Young comes back who goes down. Andrew Brown. At least Ike should get full time play somewhere sitting him does nothing for him or trade possiblity can Sandy of done any worse job with the first base position.

@Bob Burket Beltran played like crap? I didn't know batting .300 was crap. I wish some of our players were that crappy.

Colon can only top out at 90 we need a closer that can atleast bring mid to upper 90s

Chris Sullivan

@Father Dooley Raul Ibanez, Kole Calhoun, Ian Stewart, and Erik Aybar were at or below .200 prior to facing the Mets yesterday.

@Straw18 Yeah because a LH RP with a near 5 ERA in AA definitely deserves a call up. Bottom line is the Mets have no internal options from the left side in the pen right now cause they put almost all of their eggs in the basket of a guy who took 15yrs to make the majors to duplicate what he did for most of last season.

@Ron W. Davis  Brown gets sent down....Ike stays....nobody wants him....he's here to stay until end of year and then they'll dump him.

As long as Ike is in the lineup the Mets will never make it to a .500 record. I've said this a hundred times so far.

Bob Burket

@cleonsvan He did not play well for Mets at the end of his time with Mets, always in and out of lineup. Yeah, I get it. He was "hurt".

Brian Webster
Brian Webster

@Chris Sullivan That's a good point. It's not fair for the Mets hitters because they don't get to face the Mets pitching at all during the season.

I'm ok with 240 from grandy if he shows pop

It's not just Ike though.  They are carrying a number of guys who don't belong on a major league roster.

@Bob Burket @cleonsvan  He played in 98 of a possible 103 before he was traded in 2011. That doesn't sound like he was in and out of the lineup. I would argue that Beltran's only "bad" year was his first year. We were spoiled getting to watch him play. The guy was an absolute stud.
