The Mets head home Monday and start a four-game series with the Nationals, with Carlos Torres (3-3, 2.89 ERA) facing LHP Gio Gonzalez (9-6, 3.49) at 7:10 PM.

Also this past weekend, in case you missed it…

Sandy Alderson told MLB Network Radio that he remains pleased with the job Terry Collins has done this season. “He’s done an excellent job with the resources he’s had,” he added.

Bobby Parnell is still inactive and will wait until the middle of the month before deciding whether to have surgery on his spine, Collins said.

David Wright will meet the Mets in New York, where he is expected to face live pitching during his rehab from a strained hamstring.

Lastly, the Mets promoted RHP Greg Burke, and intend to add OF Mike Baxter, C Juan Centeno, and RHP Aaron Harang before tonight’s game against the Nationals. Ruben Tejada is still expected to the rejoin the team at some point this month, though Kirk Nieuwenhuis and Robert Carson will not.
