The Mets open a two-game set on Tuesday in Philadelphia at 7:05 p.m.

Tuesday’s game is the first of a nine-game road-trip that will also take the Mets to Colorado and Miami.

Jon Niese (1-2, 2.45 ERA) gets the start for the Mets, opposed by Cole Hamels (0-1, 3.00 ERA) for Philadelphia.

Later in the day, Rafael Montero makes his sixth start of the season for Triple-A Las Vegas.

Just checked the weather and it looks like the game will start late but there is a a 4 hour window between 8-12. It's going to be cloudy and cold, but Niese should by fine. Just as long as he puts a little extra pine tar in his beard!

Don't they have a collapsible roof in Philadelphia? I know that Citi field doesn't have one to save cost. Is it that expensive? If they can do it in football stadiums, why not baseball fields. The Mets could easily have 5 extra wins per season if they can manage the rainy season in April and May. Thinks about the recent, horrible loss against the Fish with Mejia on the mound. And the Mets had a ridiculous number of double headers last year because of weather. The Mets are not very good at double headers.

I live in Philadelphia, and they are calling for 5 inches of rain tonight. Tomorrow it's supposed to rain more. I was going to go to the game tonight, but it's not going to happen.

Just realized that if they have to make both games up in Philly next month, they may have a 6 game series against them, unless they do 1 double dip and than another later in the year.  Either way, the next series in Philly will feature at least 5 games, if both are rained out this weekend... this means they will need an extra starter.. might be your first Degrom or Montero siting.

There is a very high probability they get neither game in.  Which means double header galore in a month or two.

For those interested, Nimmo is destroying the FSL....batting .407 (tied for the league lead with his teammate TJ Rivera) after going 4 for 4 last night with a HR. He is probably getting moved up to AA pretty soon.

@90wins  Yeah, i think it's ridiculous that new ballparks don't have them built in by default.

@Steven Matregrano @brian2740Looks like both are washouts, they might've had a chance to play in NY, but Philly is going to be under rain a few hours earlier probably by 5-ish

@Steven Matregrano @helloboy As of right now, the weather channel has showers starting at 4 PM until 10PM when it turns to rain.  I guess that means on and off rain until 10 when it turns steady.

@yankeehater @Brian McCarthy To be fair, we'll need to see him in the OF in Queens before we know that for sure.  Nimmo and Lagares in the OF, wouldn't see a lot of fly balls touching the ground with those two out there.
