What’s on Tap: Morning intrasquad game

The Mets will play an intrasquad game Thursday at 10:00 am ET (Rubin, Twitter).

The game was scheduled to be played in the afternoon, after a quick morning workout. However, there is rain in the local forecast for the early afternoon.

Dillon Gee and Jenrry Mejia are each scheduled to throw two innings, with Daisuke Matsuzaka, Noah Syndergaard, Steven Matz, Jose Valverde, Carlos Torres, Jeurys Familia and Joel Carreño also getting work on the mound.

David Wright, Curtis Granderson and Daniel Murphy will not play, Terry Collins said Wednesday.

The team will begin their Grapefruit League season Friday against the Nationals.

Hooray the Mets are playing baseball. Now the coaches and management can see if Flores can play shortstop, Tejada hit line drives, Duda's new body can improve his confidence, can Lagares hit enough to play CF almost everyday, and if any team will trade anything good for Davis.

Enough talk, it's time to show what they got.
