Jenrry Mejia 6

What’s on Tap: Mejia takes on the Blue Jays at 7:05 p.m.

With the fifth starter job still undetermined, Jenrry Mejia will start against Mark Buehrle and the Blue Jays at 7:05 p.m. in Montreal.

Mejia has recently been bothered by a bunion on his foot, but said after his last bullpen session that he felt good.

The game will air on MLB Network.

The Mets open the regular season in three days, when they face the Nationals at Citi Field.

What happen's to Dice K if Mejia pitches a great game?? How can he not be the 5th starter?

For whatever it's worth, ESPN has Mejia starting in the first week in their MLB Schedule.

What is the weather forecast? You know where I'm going with this. Even odds he throws too many pitches in 40-degree weather and strains something. Honestly, I have zero confidence in this management team.

hopefully he will have a great game and nail down the 5th spot.

Give me a break TC . all I hear is that Lagares better hit. Look at his spring average. It is that Sandy spent the money on Chris young. This front office management is a joke.

A bunion? Isn't that what finally put a fork in the career of El Duque Hernandez? I loved watching that guy on the mound.

if i were to pick i would take Mejia but the cavot would be his history of injurys.  He needs to stay healthy. The Bunyon will go away. at least its not his past issues with his arm.

Who do you suggest pitch today? Or, if I read you right, who do you want to throw under the bus?

It won't be a joke if Lagares doesn't hit.

And if he gets hurt again, bring up Montero. The 5th starter's spot should go to one of the young guys. This is a 75- 80 win team. Giving Dice K starts and innings here is a waste of time.

@Macacawitz Bunions actually can be pretty debilitating. If it is a REAL bunion, and not just a blister, it is a distortion of the bone.

In Mejia's case though, it seems to be one health thing after another.
