What's on Tap:  Lethargic offense, woeful relief pitching, and excuses.

Bring Perdo Feliciano back.

What a team! AAA at best.

Besides Wright, Reyes, Gomez, and Murphy, what other positional player in the last 10 years has come up through the mets orgaization and been a good major leauge hitter?  We need new talent scouts!  The offensive talet is piss poor in this organization.

This team was not ready to start the season Collins and Sandy cannot evaluate talent . Ankiel and Abreu are players they believed or believ can help this club. They view EY jr. as a player. He was released by the Rockies he is not a good player his defense cost us the game Monday. The only player that has hit and played defense is Lagares and Sandy and Terry would have had him on the bench. Terry was laughing and joking throughout spring training. If you watched the games with Matt Williams he was serious and focused. As long as terry is managing we will lose more often than we should. A decent Manager would have won 1 of these games. By the way Wheeler is a 33 4 at best and Travis D cant catch. He also looks like he cant hit. The philosophy of hitting has yielde 1/3 of the batter facing 0-2 counts Terry responds we mak outs early in the count too.

This organization could care less if we go 0-4 so far..

Lets face it, Sandy punted 2014 as soon as Harvey got hurt.  He signed a few guys to make it look like he was trying to win but we all know he isnt.  If he was trying to win we would have mejia and montero in the pen and syndergaad in the 5th spot in the rotation.

Injruy prone guy on a cold rainy night in early April?  Terry Collins thinks he's good for 125, 130 pitches, maybe more.

I would go to this game just to see Mejia pitch. If we are going to suck, it might as well be with our young guns. Let them learn on the job.

Fatcessa and Blowme are dirtbags for giving Murphy a hard time about being with his Wife during birth of their baby.  They should be taken off the air.

The Mets grounds crew should mow three large rings on the outfield grass, Collins should grow a mustache and start wearing a top hat, warthen should wear a red nose and throw confetti at fans, ike davis should tame lions in the dugout, the entire mets bullpen should walk across citifield on a high wire (maybe a few will fall off) and the mets starting 9 should be jammed into a small clown car and driven onto the diamond before every game and then jump out of it to start the 1st inning...if the mets are going to be a circus they should at least be a little entertaining.

mets2014

Not the start to the season we wanted, but on a positive note all three starting pitchers had quality starts...the starting pitching is going to keep them in games

@72tilltc Puello will become a good offensive player. And you need to be patient with Flores. He is still young. It took Gomez awhile, right?

cleonsvan

@72tilltc I agree with most of this. EY Jr is not a major league player. Terry Collins is a simpleton. He is a puppet nothing more. DÁrnaud can't catch? He is probably the best framer of pitches I have ever seen in my 45 years of baseball. Can he hit ? That's another story. He has a huge wiggle in his swing but we have to give him the full year. Not everybody becomes ML hitters over night.

@Albert E Lewis  Wilpon could care less if the team goes 0-162 as long as he doesn't have to spend more money than his check book allows.....he still makes money on SNY and TV rights.

Or not sign the puffball and put mejia as the 4th starter and use that money to sign a legit bat

Shut it Mr Met!!! This team stinks..and quite frankly, you stink as Mascot. The Phillie Phanatic will eat you for lunch so beat it!

@Bob Burket I was listening to Francesa the entire time.  He never criticized Murphy for being out but did criticize the 10 day paternity leave that the federal government has.

@Bob Burket Are u serious?? They gave the guy a hard time for wanting to see his kid born? I didn't hear this...disgusting if they did. Who is blowme btw?

@yankeehater Nevermind that, we should bury a Casey Stengel jersey under the Mets dugout and sacrafice a chicken or something.

Quality start is the worst stat in baseball. All 3 starters were average, Colon and Wheeler were below average. Unless every starter can pitch a complete game,we're not going to win. This is shaping up to be the worst bullpen of all time.

@cleonsvan @72tilltc  d'Arnaud is a .220 hitter at best; send him back to AA and work with him.

This organization is the pits......a sorry set of players.

@cleonsvan @72tilltc  My issue is he moves a little to much kind of too cute i think he cost us the third strike on Parnell pitch. But he has trouble getting a glove on Familia pitches and couldnt get out of his crouch on German. The real point is if you have a vet team you rest em and go slow in Spring with these young guys play em push em make them ready to 9 and kick but. He wasted so much of the spring by getting players who wont make the team ready. We limped in !!

BadContract

He calls himself greekgod and other people brain dead. Tool.  Sure the Mets are a mess, but I will see them a few times, especially when some young talent is playing. You just go when everything is perfect, that is if you can step away from the mirror.

Don't understand why they didn't just cut Ike and pay only 600,000.Could use that for bullpen.

@cleonsvan @72tilltc  Man it is so nice to hear from an intelligent baseball purist like yourself. I was listening to the Fan and Mike was defending Terry yet he called the 3 first baseman stupid and the overall way the Mets run things as stupid. It is stupid because of Sandy and Terry.

cleonsvan
cleonsvan

@72tilltc @cleonsvan You know what I really don't like about DÁrnaud? His body. His legs are too skinny, doesn't fill out his uniform and he is not built like a catcher. I hate to say it, but he might not last in this league. Hope I'm wrong. The catcher I really liked this weekend was Jose Loboton. He looks like a player.

cleonsvan
cleonsvan

@72tilltc @cleonsvan I agree. Nobody knew their roles because the idiot manager has no clue how to evaluate talent. Like you said, the fact that Lagares was even being considered for AAA is a testament to the idiocy of this club.
