What’s on Tap: It’s a great day for a ball game, let’s play three

The Mets will play three games in Florida on Thursday.

David Wright and Daniel Murphy will play in an intrasquad game at Tradition Field around 11 a.m., during which Bartolo ColonJon Niese and Bobby Parnell are expected to pitch.

The rest of the team will be split up for two games in Kissimmee.

John Lannan, Rafael Montero, Steven Matz, Jeurys Familia, and Josh Edgin will face the Astros in a Grapefruit League game, while Logan Verrett, Jack Leathersich, Vic Black and Erik Goeddel will throw against a separate set of Astros in a “B-game.”

too bad you don't see those dark clouds rolling in from the west....that was some kind of storm.

Was hoping we'd be getting some sort of updates on the intrasquad game

Ok so today they play 3 games and Tejada is still out but I'm guessing TC still doesn't take a look at Flores at SS.

Montero, Matz, and Familia all pitching today. That I would love to see.

So we could lose 3 today? Me sad.  :(

FYI,

I live in Florida, today is going to be a horrible day to play baseball. Huge storm 40-50mph wind and rain all day, throughout the state.

@Brian Webster  Well said wasting spring and wasting September is TC MO. remember him playing Torres in September?

I'm from gainesville and had tickets for Kissimmee today. What's the chance they don't even step on the field?

@Mark Kohn Sorry when TC said Tejada wouldn't play till the earliest Fri I for some reason thought that meant he wouldn't play on Thu, silly me. Still Flores should still start at SS in 1 of the other 2 real games. But like with all the other talk before and during Mets ST getting a look at Flores at SS being a legitimate option is just BS. Their minds are already made up about what they are going to do regardless.

Unless they are late games, I doubt it. Rain is probably 2-3 hours away from Pt. St. Lucie
