Day game underway in Vegas.  Andrew Brown not in the line-up.  Wilmer turning DPs and already has a hit - up to .254.

The NL East can be won if we had some bats.

Murph and Tejada were huge last night, particularly Tejada.   Great win!

Tejada and Murphy get pieces of that gameball last night.

Tough to beat Wainwright but it would be a fun win if we can get it.

Should'nt the top of the order be high OBP guys, because  EY and Grandy are not getting on base at all.

Hey,  Where is all the information on Ike?  They ALWAYS talk about the exMets.  They just totally disliked him her because Wally was a huge supported of Ike.  No other reason...PERIOD

guys 26 its time to do something with him, he's pitching well maybe mets can trade him or some of their other pitchers and get some productive offensive players on this team.

For the people talking about bringing degrom up because he's doing well in AAA.....who in the world is he supposed to replace in the rotation? You think they are going to pay Colon 10 mill a year to pitch in the BP or to start at AAA? Or maybe you think degrom, who is a bonafide starter, should come up here and pitch 3-4 innings a week in relief? Some people just don't think before they post.

@mets2death  Send down EY and keep Kirk?  That is never going to happen (thankfully).  Kirk is not thought to be part of the future anymore with this team. He is holding Lagares' spot and will be gone at that point.  Do you realize EY has scored 16 runs and that is 4 more than Murphy for the team lead?  EY needs to get his average up.  His OBP has been good enough and he is doing damage when on base.   Kirk is not as good as EY

You do not simply bench and demote players.  It is just not that simple.

Recker is 31? Neuwenheis isn't part of the future. He's a decent player. Recker is a career backup catcher. Flores isn't a SS. And he hasn't hit EVER when he's been up, nor is he hitting in AAA now.

@mets2death  Neiwenheis and Recker are not the future of the team.

@Olerud42 Actually, Mets have always hit Wainright pretty well since he's become a starter.  ERA north of 6 I believe.

@Art Dockerty  Yeah, nothing to do with him being godaweful and a whiny brat for years.  No it was because Wally liked him, makes perfect sense.

@mike23 trade is fine....he has no place in the rotation right now unless someone gets hurt.

@yankeehater Hey thinking man, the Cards used their young guys in relief when they brought them up. A pitcher is a pitcher.

He could be a two-inning closer.

Unless I'm mistaken, the Cards typically do that later in the seaon.  They let them spend most of the year getting their innings as starters in the minors before they use them out of the pen as late season call-ups.
