What’s on Tap: Gee takes 16-inning scoreless streak to Phillies at 7 pm

The Mets and Phillies look to continue their three-game series at 7:10 p.m. on Saturday, though the forecast calls for heavy rain and wind.

Dillon Gee (3-1, 2.51), who hasn’t allowed a run in 16 innings, starts for the Mets. RHP Kyle Kendrick (0-3, 3.58) will start for the Phillies.

Last night at Citi Field, the Phillies beat the Mets, 3-2, in 11 innings >> Read more at MetsBlog.

I hope tonight's game is not almost 5 hrs worth of frustration to watch like last night's game. Anyway, Lets Go Mets!

Historically the Phillies absolutely murder Gee, hopefully that changes today

He may need 16 more to have a chance at winning this game.

All the bad press the Mets are getting and management does not care a wit. That just goes to show us fans that in order to  get back at them DO NOT GO TO  THE STADIUM!

Gee and Niese will be traded as salary dumps. The question before us is: who should we get back in return?

Minor League Merry-Go-Round

Can someone please explain to me, because I do not understand, the Mets strategy of the "minor league merry-go-round?"  The latest is the demotion of Satin and Qunitanilla, with the promotions of Flores and Eric Campbell.  Who is next in line for the merry-go-round?  And why won't this team try to acquire real major leaguers via trade?  Their current strategy is not working, and if I and most people in here know this, why doesn't Met management know this?  I am truly baffled.

Imagine we signed abreu and re signed marlon. Imagine we had a front office with a brain and a pair of bawlz. A 1-2-3-4-5 of Laggy murph wright Byrd and abreu scores runs. This team is pathetic right now

As terrible as the mets have been they are only 3 games out of first

This team is flat out garbage. They should be ashamed of themselves. They're unwatchable. So I'm done watching, cancelled my MLB.tv subscription. I'll check the boxscores, but this team does not deserve a penny from me. Adios until next year Metsblog!

Hopefully Gee will retain his trade value. Dumping salary is the name of the game for this organization, so I wonder who would we get back for Gee considering that money is always an issue.

That petition is so asinine, it made me very upset.

@greekgod if your real life persona is half as annoying as your online fake one I feel for your entire extended family.

@Father Dooley  Its not baffling at all. Wilpon doesn't want to spend money due to his owing millions of dollars plus in order to trade for better players he has to trade our pitchers which Alderson doesn't want to do .....simple.

@Max Blay  We got Bobby Abreu instead, man!!  Come on! What do you want, a winning team?

@Max Blay  The majority of commenters on this site wanted Byrd out last year, even when he was doing well.

Atlanta lost 7 games in a row and we couldn't catch any ground on them...

@William Bonilla  I think it was Parcells who said where are you, closer to last place or closer to first place? That says a lot.

It's his fault for this "hunting for strikes"

philosophy... It's obviously not working.

@Steven Matregrano @adam  Yeah he's a typical fake fan that only comes out when they lose and hides in the dark when they win.

What's his ceiling dude? How many years? Why is it so hard for you people to understand that a guy with above average stuff pitching very well might be good trade bait for a bat?

It's not a ridiculous consideration with all their arms coming up and this team going no where this year...wait for it...because of their hitting

@Steven Matregrano @1harris1@Max Blay Very true.  He hit for power last year with the Mets like he never had previously, and a lot of people were suspicious of him.  He might have been okay if he could have been had on a one year deal, but ultimately he's not the answer.
