Glad this one is on TV.  I'll try to tune in a bit.

IT has been nice to see the upcoming talent showcased (Thor, Montero and even deGrom) it doesn't seem as if they can Meija enough innings to truly compete for the 5th spot, and even if he is on the right innings track, it has mostly been in the shadows. I wonder if the Mets are determined to start him in AAA and don't want to put him front center only to see him start dazzling like last year, where if he got the sort of "face time" that Thor and Montero have gotten, fans would be demanding his position as the number 5 and they have already decided it was going to be Dice K or Lannan. looks like Dice K at this point.

Kind of bums me because I was really looking forward spring most because I wanted to see if Meija could pick up where he left of last year and maybe even take a step forward with a clean bill of health. the guy has filthy stuff, more than enough fastball, a ton of moxie on the mound and generates an insane amount of ground balls. if he is healthy and stamina allows, he could be a break out pitchers in the MLB this year.

But but but... dice-k was a huge Japanese star just 10 years ago and Lannan went to Chaminade!
