Don't look now, but the Phillies have actually started winning some games.

Sandy, if trends continue and this team finishes dead last in the division in a season that you said could bring 90 wins, will that finally be enough to fire Collins?

#Mets fun -- to get 90 wins, they have to go 30-0. .500 is 19-11.

Always a good night when the Metsie's win. Too bad it took injuries to Wright and Murph to get Collins to shake up the lineup and get some energy injected into it.

The Mets have 11 triples this season.  That's a pace of about 13 to 14 triples for the season.  The fewest triples  the Mets have ever had in a full season was 14 in 1999 (a season in which they won 97 games).

The Mets have the fewest triples in the NL this season, well behind the 17 triples by the Reds, who have the second fewest in the NL.  The Mets don't have the fewest triples in the majors this season -- that distinction goes to the Orioles who have only 8 triples on the year.  But then the O's hardly need triples, as they have 168 homers, most in the majors and 66 more than the Mets.

The last NL teams to finish a season with fewer than 15 triples have been the Cardinals with 13 triples in 2007 and the Reds with 12 triples in 2006.

Love when they beat Atlanta. Especially if it keeps them out of the post season. A sweep here would go a long way to soothing a bad year.

30-0 is not impossible. It's incredibly impossible.

@matmil a sweep here would do more than that...it would make the mets 3 games behind

the braves and probably move the marlins into 2nd place.

Even better. Not the same rivalry as we used to have but I'd rather see Miami win than Atlanta.
