Yes, CY made sure that he hits pop up with a runner on 3rd base in top the 1st inning in Seattle. He is like a money in the bank when it comes to a scoring opportunity...what a 7.5 million dollar investment! Congratulation, sandy, you know how to pick a player who can hit a popup all the time..you are a genius !

After exactly 100 games, Mets are on track for a 76-win season.

Vertigo? What's the deal with that?

Hopefully, this is Colon's last start in  Met muumuu.

"The Mets want to move Bartolo Colon if, for nothing else, to redirect the $11 million he is owed next year to other needs.

But multiple executives from outside of the Mets say it is exactly that $11 million owed in 2015 that will make Sandy Alderson’s job trading the righty anywhere from difficult to impossible — unless the Mets swallow a huge sum of next year’s payday."

It never works out this way, but man, Harvey/Wheeler/DeGrom could be downright nasty moving forward.  If only this team got some damn hitters.

WE CANNOT POSSIBLY WIN GAMES WITHOUT MVP RUBEN TEJADA!!!1!

Anyone else notice the sudden absence of the SNY postgame wrap-up? One of the last reasons to visit this site seems to have disappeared

Good thing Wilmer is in Tacoma. We need the win today, followed by a good showing in Milwaukee.

Interesting choice waiting for TC if Tejada's injury keeps him out of the game, especially since Flores can't handle the ss position.

deGrom obviously has been a huge surprise but considering his inexperience with pitching it bodes very well for his future. Hold onto this kid!

Dump Colon for whatever you can get to move as much of his money as you can for next year so you have some money to fill other holes.

deGrom has turned into the best surprise of the season.  Execute most of his pitches when he needs to and doesn't give in to hitters.  Very poised for a 272nd pick.....

Oh no, if Tejada is hurt whomever will we replace him with?!

That Walker prospect is supposedly a stud. One of the best in the game.

@tullydew why do you pretend to be the METS CFO?

We'll see what happens with Bartolo, no need to get freaked out about a Joel Sherman article, he's usually wrong. He's searching for something to write about.

Tarheel11

@tullydew Exactly! Trading him has always been about clearing his dollars to use elsewhere! SA took a gamble by giving him the second year when noone else would and now he's praying he doesn't have to eat it

@pundit18 They don't ALWAYS do the wrap up, especially after a late game out west.

What choice is there? They can't just bring someone up unless Tejada goes on the DL and we'll have to wait to see on that.

Which again proves how difficult it is to predict talent in baseball, something that some bloggers ignore.

Everyone is a stud when they pitch against the mets

@Tarheel11 @tullydew  Well, while it would not be great to be locked in for that money next year, at least it is one more arm in a loaded field of arms that might allow us to trade talent (better talent than Colon) for a great bat (better than what Colon could get us).

@jose_who @mets2891  With Niese and Gee as veteran anchors.  Somebody is going to get traded, surely, but yeah, nobody has ever doubted our future pitching depth.

@hankypanky  People keep saying he can't handle the SS position but he makes all the plays. Is that his position of the future? No, but he can handle it during a DL stint.

C.K. Dexter Haven

@theglider you would think since Tejada is their only SS option on the ML club, they would've x-ray'd him IMMEDIATELY.  What sense does "wait and see" make?

rico

@C.K. Dexter Haven @theglider wow are you searching desperately to find something, anything to complain about?  as the glider said, they will check swelling today and get him X-rayed.  If there is a problem the Mets AAA team is playing 20 minutes away, so a replacement player could literally take a taxi to meet the Mets.

theglider

I don't believe the injury is serious. I think they'll look to see if it's swelled during the night. If so they can get away with Campbell at short for a game.
