Dice-K against Mike Minor ... must miss TV!

Batting Rubin "Molasses" Tejada 2nd is dumb. He would have trouble scoring from any base on a home run. I think d'Arnaud is a better choice as he runs the bases better and has started to hit. If not him, Juan. Chris Yound should bat 7 or 8...he is a hot mess at the plate.

Other than that it looks bleak.

Why do people even pay a lot of money to see them? Save your money and go out to eat.

Instead of "In case you missed it" it should read "You should have missed it". The Mets are such a joke. This team will find a way to lose a winnable game like no other. The culture from ownership down to the last player is one of failure......It's hard to utter the words "I'm a Met fan" without a sense of shame and embarrassment.

Only need to go 53-26 from here on out to get to 90 wins!  I'd place better odds on the second coming.

In the past I'd be upset about a lose like last night.  I now expect it, and it doesn't bother me.  Thanks to the Mets I am living a healthier life style.

"A leaked Astros front office document showed that the Mets asked Houston about shortstop Jonathan Villar"

From the tubes this morning:

"Following Monday’s loss Jonathan Villar was sent down to the Oklahoma City RedHawks (AAA)."

Sounds like a Met to me...

It's me, glass half full guy. Well, glass is now half empty. June 30th marks the official end to the 2014 season. When does football season kick off? So sad.....

Hey Sandy: Take your strategy of adding more prospects only and Shove It Up Your A..!!!!!

WE NEED MAJOR LEAGUE READY PLAYERS HERE....NOW!!!!!

There is no point following this team. You spend two plus hours of the evening watching then they do a bad news bears act at the very end. You might feel good after a win but the fact is even the crappiest team wins two to three times a week.

The Mets are now only 2 1/2 games ahead of the worst record in baseball...that's right, you heard me:

ONLY TWO AND A HALF GAMES AHEAD OF THE WORST RECORD IN BASEBALL!!!!

what a shame -- they are getting such good starting pitching

if your offense is mediocre -- what would your team as manager look like? would you run a tight ship? would you demand flawless execution on every play? would your team keep running themselves out of ball games with mistakes and mental errors?

no.... tell me TC apologists -- what are his teams marked by? give me a list of the good things his teams are known for? because I only see a team that is marked by constant mistakes and lack of preparation ...

it may not be all Collins fault -- but he stinks and this team is desperate for new leadership

Why is everyone so upset?

Please dont tell me you expected to beat the Braves, they are a professional major league team...if anything losing by 2 runs is something we should be relatively proud of.

This is the first time as a Mets fan that I don't get sick anymore when we lose...even last year I had a problem with the losses, but for some reason I feel different this year.  I believe this change is a result of my acceptance that this team truly stinks and that a win is a miracle.  I believe there are many Met fans feeling the same way.  Wow...never thought that I would react this way when the team loses.

I hate rooting against the Mets.

I'm a Tampa Bay Bucs fan as well. (Woe is me). I rooted against them last year until they fired their coach.

I may have to start rooting for the same thing here. After last night's loss, its clear the problems with these guys are psychological. That's the coach's realm. TC must go!

Also, I have to think the Mets are leading the world in runs scored on outs. Is it too much to ask for a hit with a man on third?

We're coming over from Scotland in September for the last game of the season. I hope they haven't imploded by then.

@nyciti  Actually, admitting to being a Met fan/devotee shows an unbelievable level of allegiance and loyalty.  This ownership/management group has done nothing but alienate it's fan base with all their lies and false promises.  They're lucky to have any fans out there who even care at this point.

@Evil_MrM Apparently the Mets preferred Villar starting over Tejada.

@fertiect For us Giant fans, the season starts August 3rd, Hall Of Fame game against Buffalo.  I was hoping the Mets would make it until then, but no way Jose.

Thank you father. That's all this man knows how to do is trade for prospects. He is clueless on how to make the current roster better.

@tullydew OMG, is that what a real 2b man looks like??? Sign him up now. A good future answer for a Murphy trade.

@mingo

Don't root against the Mets.

But you can root for Houston to go above .500, so it will be clear that the Mets have a longer streak of losing seasons than any other team.

Maybe that will make a statement.

Turns out the Mets are third in sac hits. yet way behind in hits.

Those stats are deceiving. They are having him work on certain pitches each start, much like they did with Harvey. His stuff is still filthy; he just needs more development

more hits than strikeouts...this could be that he's thinking about the big league and not concentrating, or bored with AAA.  I suspect that once he's called up you'll see a different pitcher...fingers crossed!

@1harris1 @nyciti I'm 49 years old and have been a fan since I was 6-7 year old. I'm just fatigued I suppose from all the years of constant losing. I'm tired of not signing the right players or being financially limited as if we were a small market team.

Shows how much value Murphy has ,the Astros didn't make that deal.

@shea @Father Dooley  It means we're just a tad bit behind the pace.  But let's win 10 of our next 13 heading into the all star beak and see what happens!

@Father Dooley I think the Mets were gauging his value on the market and their options. Otherwise I would think the Astros would have made this trade immediately

@barbarossa @Richard Alicea I watched Syndergaard's entire start. A lot of bad luck and a lot of borderline pitches going against him. He only started missing spots and throwing too many pitches after most of the damage had been done. For the first 3 innings his fastball was dominating.
