Dillon Gee, currently on the disabled list with a strained lat, may be on track to return to the Mets on July 1.

As a formality, the Mets placed Triple-A RHP Noah Syndergaard on the 7-day disabled list, retroactive to June 9. Syndergaard, dealing with a sprained A/C joint in his left (non-throwing) shoulder, is eligible to return on June 16.

Recently demoted Travis d’Arnaud went 3-for-5 with two home runs for Triple-A Las Vegas.

1 question, it happen to us a long time ago, will  Jonathon Niese is starting and the Brew crew send up 9 righties, why not let him pitch to one batter, remove him and bring in a righty to pitch, ( talk about screwing up there lineup.

Am starting to think that we'll see Daniel Murphy's kid up here with the Mets before we get a glimpse of Syndergaard. Also hope he's not this brittle. You gotta feel bad for deGrom, who can't seem to catch a break. But the guy is definitely a keeper. We all knew TDA would hit back down in Vegas. Also got the feeling last night that everyone in the Met booth would much rather be watching the (NY) Rangers game. Can't say as I blame them.

The stadium was fairly empty yesterday, but think of all the money saved by slashing payroll to under $80m from $140m.

If they kept payroll up, put a good team on the field, got into the playoff race, filled the stands, and raised the television ratings, it would more than offset the payroll difference.

Astros' Colin McHugh   4-3   in 9 starts  2.82 ERA  60 k's in 54 innings and the league hitting .188 against him... not bad since he left here.

I am a Met fan since 1963 and after all these years I just can't watch this team anymore. I can't listen to Sandy Aldersons monotonic BS rap and Terry Collins telling us how close we are.

by picking up all this supposidly amazing young pitching they forgot that you need guys who can hit the ball. The first base situation is a joke. That is an elite position and we have a barely average player there. OK Lucas Duda is one of the worst we've had on first base in many years. He has to go. it seems like everything this team touches turns to crap-

Amazing how deGrom cant catch a break seems to always pitch good enough to win..yet loses due to an offense that is crap.

My Wife wants to know if I want to go to the game on Sunday and get a free hat. Would like to go but hate wasting the money on a meaningless game and then after a loss have a long angry ride home. What should I do? Any advice? LOL

They got talent players for what ? if is apitcher an TC lucks that he strikes out lots of players he take the ball from him an bring a less quality pitcher to get bit up,and when someone is hitting good he sit that player an bring a lousy one to bat;thats it,thats the main reason he is like Pete Rose, any buddy see this, thanks

First year in a long time that I won't be asking for Mets tickets for Father's Day. Time to do something, this is not just going to get better on it's own.

So I'm guessing Dave Hudgens wasn't the problem? The people on here wanted him fired, he was, and the team still can't hit.

The problem with this team is the ownership, nothing else. They won't sornd for hitting and so we gave no hitting.

Until that's resembled, until they get some bats, it won't matter who's in charge. The results will stay the same.

Great that d'Arnaud hit 2 homers yesterday.  His were two of seven hit in a 14-7 game in Colorado Springs.  Another minor league bandbox at elevation.  Take it for what it's worth.

@mets2death Which is why I don't understand how Terry plays him over Flores who eventually will be a better hitter than Tejeda....Flores has had 75  or more rbis in 4 full seasons in the minors[including 86 last year] something which Tejeda has NEVER done

@ken1010 You can tell that the camera guys have been instructed not to show the vast number of unoccupied seats. Would LOVE to see this issue addressed by Met broadcast team.

@JasonMiles All this young pitching thrown out there in the most haphazard way.  The Mets brass gave absolutely no forethought this offseason on how to get from innings 7 to 9.  This, IMHO, is the biggest condemnation of the Sandy regime.  It's as though they had no idea how they wanted to use these kids.....and the Parnell injury is no excuse, he's been hurt before and inconsistent throughout most of his career.  It's not like you were going to pencil him in for 40 saves.

@Bob Burket Buy a stubhub ticket from a season ticket holder who can't go for cheap.  Good seats for cheap, you get your hat, and enjoy a nice day sitting in the sun.

@Bob Burket Take her out to a nice restaurant for Brunch-On the water somewhere and don't give the Mets your hard earned $. The Wipons won't get the message until

no one shows up at The Ballpark

@Kevin VanTassell  I was going to take my dad and let him watch his granddaughter run the bases after the game but decided that he didn't deserve to be tortured. My daughter rounding the bases would probably be the only thing he'd have to cheer about.

The stadium is empty because this team has no talent. They can't hit and the bullpen can't hold a lead. That's why no one goes.

@Macacawitz I don't care if d'Arnaud hit 10 HR's he aint't gong to hit at CitiField. He's a pipsqueak at best.

@thwacker Boston is a nightmare this season.  Absolutely everything went right for them last year, nothing has gone right so far this year.  Losing is contagious. and when a team loses the media lashes out at everyone.

He and Teagarden are the same size. It doesn't matter for home runs. You don't need to be big to hit them.
