Boycott citi field, sny, and their radio station till Collins is fired.  This clown is the worse manager i ever seen...today, knowing he has no pen available, he uses Edgin for 1 batter.  He already has overworked this year Dice K, famillia, Mejia, Torres.. he is killing our pitchers.  Last night, he as lagarese bunt on a 2-0 count after Young had already walked.   HIT AND RUN --why are you giving away an out the moment you know your team can't hit?  You do not give a team a free out in that spot..you hit and run or at the very least you let Lagarese take a strike..coincidentally, he bunted on ball 3.

COLLINS HAS TO GO IMMEDIATELY!!!

I wrote yesterday that David Wright is not a super star because he lacks the ability of winning games in the last innings. Last night they posted his average of .222 in late inning pressure situations! And I got vilified on the remark from most posters here. Look what happened last night, they WALKED Murphy to get to Wright......nuff said.

Show me a player that can win games ie Keith Hernandez. Carter, Mays, Teufel, Abreu, and all the rest .......

Stay positive Mets fans, deGrom's on the mound today! Love this kid's stuff. I do recall a post back around September-October about Wally Backman saying who he's been impressed with at AAA. And he said degrom impressed him the most-this is while Montero and Syndergaard are on the roster as well. Jacob could be a hidden gem

One last thing about Montero: its already June and the trade deadline will be here before you know it...its a gamble, but id rather have Montero make 2 more ML starts (until gee gets back) and hope that Montero shines, thus building up his trade stock, and then send him down. Dicek can throw 2 1-hitters in a row and it wont mean anything in terms of trade value.

As far as Montero: going into the 2013 season, nobody really considered him a big-time SP prospect. Anyone who is getting disgusted with him because he wasn't great right off the bat is being unfair. We should be happy that degrom is actually exceeding expectations. The same guys who were considered studs early last season...Harvey, wheeler, and noah,....are the same ones who are still the future of this team. Degrom and Montero would only be icing on the cake if they pan out.

We're only 4 out because the braves haven't gotten hot yet and the nats are battling key injuries. That 4 out can become 8 out in a heartbeat.

What's done is done....this season was tanked when we didn't address  offense in the off-season.

In case you missed it... Chris Young still sucks.

Let's be realistic. Enough with the "we're only 4 games out".

We are more than likely going to battle for last place and not first place. We are on pace for 75 winds.

This organization isn't going to bring in any help that costs more than major league minimum. If anything they will dump salaries. They have to come out of this year with some questions answered.

Duda? Tejada? TDA? CY? Young bullpen arms?

This year should be about figuring out what these kids are for the future. If Duda and Tejada aren't the future then don't bring them back next year. Move on.

This organization seems stuck in neutral

Buddy Carlyle called up tp the Mets...

And Sandy's sole strategy of the Minor League Merry Go Round continues...

@yankeehater  Dice-Ks trade value should actually be pretty high. An experienced veteran, now in the pen and with the exceptions of a couple hiccups is solid trade bait. However, we do need him for our pen, unless deGrom and Montero are headed for the pen when Noah gets called up. Something tells me there will be a trade right before his call up in a couple weeks depending on injury.

I don't think they expected Degrom to be as good as he's been. He's emerged as an interesting wildcard here.

Patience with Montero. Sometimes a young pitcher needs time to adjust to the MLB scene.

Ha! It won't happen, but I'd be fine with him being the one released when they promote the immortal Buddy Carlyle. Let CY get some ABs on somebody else's time.

@Father Dooley They just played 14 innings last night and burned through all the 'pen. They need a fresh arm in reserve.  Who exactly would you liked them to call up? Based on numbers it seems Carlyle is the logical choice.

Was Sandy supposed to have traded for a reliever after last night's game?

@Gerard Farrell @yankeehater Im not saying a team wont possibly want to trade for diceK, but the return for him as opposed to a kid like Montero, if Montero can pitch well a few more times, shouldn't be close.

In reality, neither is likely to be traded....niese and gee are the ones who will probably go.

@1harris1 That's my point. A guy on the last post said he expected Montero to be the next pedro......are you freaking kidding me?! Mets fans need to pay more attention.

Tarheel11

@yankeehater @Gerard Farrell That's a great point. The ceiling for a Montero return in a trade is much higher than for a Dice K. For this team, take the shot and hope to increase Montero's value as much as possible.

@yankeehater @1harris1 Not only pay attention more, but be realistic.  The only comparisons I recall with Pedro were his frame and stature. Certainly not stuff.

@yankeehater @Tarheel11 @Gerard Farrell  All good points. Montero could bring back a bigger haul, especially in a package deal. But a team in the hunt desperate for a solid reliever? Sandy may get away with one if he plays his cards right
