Juan Lagares played rehab games with the GCL Mets on Friday and Saturday, and will shift to Double-A Binghamton on Monday. He’s expected to return from the disabled list either Wednesday or Thursday.

Matt Harvey said that he expects to throw from a mound at some point in July for the first time since having Tommy John surgery. Harvey was supposed to throw from a mound a few weeks ago, but the Mets held him back to be extra cautious >> Read more

These standings are not correct - we won our 35th game yesterday, didn't we?

If the A's manager said this, I think it's hilarious:

"We may walk Bartolo intentionally a couple of times just to get him on the basepaths, see him run around a little bit." As mgr told MLB.com

Hefner will get 4-5 starts before year end, to bad Harvey did not get his surgery when he 1st knew of injury or he might be on same schedule as Hefner. I know everyone loves Murphy, I do as well but he has much more value for other team then he does for the Mets, .290 with 12 hrs and 70 rbis would be great for a decent fielding 2nd basemen but Murphy is not and does not hit enough to be a top corner infielder and can not play OF, perfect time to get something of value for him, we would be selling high which is rare for the Mets, Flores could fill in the rest of the way at 2nd and probably put up #'s close to Murphy if given a full time chance, he has posted better #;s in MILB then Murphy did at a younger age, Murphy was 23 in AA on got promoted to the Mets, never really played in AAA where as Flores dominated in AAA at 21 and 22 and deserves a full time chance

mlbtraderumors has the Mets/Sandy contemplating releasing Chris Young when Lagares comes off the DL....one can only hope.  I believe CY has slipped into that "Jason Bay" category as far as tolerance for seeing him in the blue and orange each day...as far as the fanbase is concerned i mean...

I see so many mistakes in this post. It appears as though there are 7 games in the road trip, not 6. and last I checked, the Mets were 35-41 and in 4th place.

Hilarious...going to my first game at Citi in 3 years on Wednesday....wifey gives me my ticket this morning?  And I gotta see Chris Young's under-performing ARSE on the ticket!

First we are pitched too  Tuesday from a guy we gave away..then are going going to be pitched too from a man that Billy Beane acquired for a dollar Wednesday.[Brad Mills].

Right/Wrong direction poll soon to follow.

One difference between Wheeler and Harvey is that Zach needs external motivation (Kershaw) to excel and Matt has his own built in.

Rumor...Giants and Jays interested in Daniel Murphy what exactly that means?

One more win and we get a "How do you feel about the direction the Mets are going" poll!

Wake me up when this AAAA team goes 6-3 or 7-2 in these games. A's are very good...the other 2 are almost as bad as the mets.

So with the lefty going tomorrow does he go back to CY? Sit Kirk? Campbell? EY? Trying to figure out what kind of lineup TC is going to throw out there makes my head spin

Kazmir vs Colon. Ironic. So far Billy Beane made the right call between the two. And Kazmir is still only 30.

"The Mets then leave for a six-game road trip through Pittsburgh and Atlanta…"

Seven game road trip, look at the graphic you posted and count along.

One aha ha, one game in Pittsburgh etc

Hefner's not getting any starts here unless the rest of the team starts shutting down the younger guys.

Hefner has a very small role here but could be the 6th or 7th starter type that's a long men from the pen.  He's nothing more then that.

@BadContract Give Wheeler some darn time, he isn't even quite up to a full year in the bigs yet, is he a potential all time great, no, but man it is amazing how much people are already jumping ship with him.

@BadContract I think some guys just develop quicker than others. Not everyone is lights outs out from the start like Harvey. Even Kershaw took a little time.

@Albert E Lewis If the Mets truly have no money, i believe they will trade him since he'll be due for a big raise next season. Otherwise, makes no sense when you lack hitting and he's our best pure hitter.

For? Why give up our best hitter when we need offense?

@yankeehater Goes to show u how bad the division is when u r closer to the div lead than the wild card.  Have to admit though never in my wildest dreams did I think the Mets would take three out of four from the Fish

Tarheel11

@yankeehater Have to admit I get a little nuts when people here start ranting about the division and "we're only 5 games out" blah blah blah.

I just don't get how you can even say anything about contending for the division until you at least get to .500. We're still 6 games under!

It depends, sometimes he likes to pull names out of a hat, other times the magic 8 ball is preferred.

Losing Kazmir was one of the biggest mistakes in the history of this organization.

Standings were stale by a day and the road trip of 7 wasn't even added correctly.  Par for the course.

@spelletrader I pictured a dart board, but now that you mention it, the magic 8 ball is probably it!

I really don't think so.  In the context that we could have gotten more, sure...

He had 4 years of decent, but not great production for Tampa.  Has hit 200 innings once..had 3 years where he was completely ineffective...three seasons where his era was close to 5 or higher while pitching the majority or higher.

@nykjw2 I'm not sure what point you're trying to make.

@BringBackDaveTelghe Right.  The Mets correctly predicted that Kazmir would not reach his potential due to health concerns.  But they also could have done a lot better than Zambrano in return.
