I'm a huge fan, but my life is very busy right now. I am giving the Mets 2 weeks to get over .500. If they can do it, I'll invest time and emotion into the rest of the year. If they don't, I just don't have the energy.

Dear Metsies, I hope you can carry the momentum forward from your last winning homestand. We all wish you the best of luck in the second half. Lets Go Mets!

Hopefully the clubhouse leader, Grandy, can keep everyone on the same page despite the "I've never stuck with a recipe that worked" Collins.

Obviously huge 10 game road trip. Might actually be a good thing that they are out west for the nest ten days because the media scrutiny is going to pick up with the deadline coming up. Interesting to see how this plays out. See if the team comes home the 28th the same as they left

Does anyone know when we can see Conforto play with the Cyclones?

All this talk of Noah and Montero before the year started and it's deGrom who has solidified himself in the rotation...we have to be careful about trading pitching for hitting because the depth we thought we had may not be there....

Mets, please get off to a strong start over these next 67 games.  LGM!

Something isn't right with Noah.Stop this talk with him.I know he is 21, but he get's lit up every start.Needs a lot more time.I think it's time to worry.Trade him.

Lowest BB per 9 IP rates in the NL (min. 80 IP):

1. Clayton Kershaw 1.21

2. Bartolo Colon 1.26

3. Tim Hudson 1.44

4. Jordan Zimmerman 1.59

5. Kyle Lohse 1.63

Only two Met pitchers have gone a whole season (min. 162 IP) with a lower BB/9 IP rate than Bartolo has now: Bret Saberhagen in 1994 and Rick Reed in 1998.

Noah Syndergaard allowed 7 ER on 9 hits and 3 walks in 5 innings tonight vs. Salt Lake.

He has been a disappointment so far this year. He shouldn't come up until next year at the earliest. Let the kid get some confidence at the AAA level first.

that's only a nine game series - 10th game v. the Brewers is missing.

@niesesnose Kennedy 3rd in NL in strikeouts. Despaigne ERA about 1.50.  Wont be a cakewalk.

They've lost their last 2 games 1-0. One of the worst offenses of all time

Wait, the mariners are a bad team? Since when??

@sandybgone Yep. If the Mets do poorly, they'll lose the good will they built up pre-ASG, and then people won't buy tickets and show up for any games, Mets will have reason to not spend any money.  So in that sense, totally agree with you.  Let's Go Mets! Give people hope, a reason to buy tickets!

@Tarheel11  I wonder if colon makes the flight from seattle to Milwaukee?  I think they are dangling nick franklin in front of tampa for zobrist

@Straw18 You gotta' give to get, and it is still the only area we have to give from.  Sure, we have to be careful in any trade, but at some point I think you can say goodbye to some of our arms.  Maybe not until the off season, but it'll happen.

@Bob Burket I can see the Mets having an 0-10, 1-9, 2-8, 3-7, 4-6, 5-5, 6-4, 7-3, 8-2, 9-1, or 10-0 trip.  Sure I'm right.  (barring rain outs that make it less than 10 games)

@Brian McCarthy Well, I guess the good news is that our starting rotation is already stacked, so he isn't a crucial piece of the future.  Obviously, I want him to succeed and be awesome for us, but won't be disaster if he doesn't develop.

5.74 ERA & given up 106 hits in 84 IP.

Ugly stats

May have to give him a little break on this one it's been 10-11 days since his last very good start (pitched one inning in the Futures Game) Also he's still a pup, Harvey, Wheeler, and Montero were 23 when they first came up, Syndergaard is still 21, if by chance he doesn't make it to the Majors this year it's not a big deal, he is still loaded with talent.

@mrgee  I see you had your big bowl of cereal this morning made by Captain Obvious Inc.

Yup, a guy who's extremely young for his league and pitching in a terrible league for hitters should just be given up on at this point. What an idiotic comment

@tullydew 21 years old, at Triple-A, remember that number most.

@Tarheel11 @mets2014  this is what heyman reported...I think a lot of people are underestimating players values at this part of the season...colon will get a pretty significant prospect especially since he is not a rental and does not have a ridiculous salary

mrgee

@Bob Burket @mrgee Hmmm…only difference between your comment and mine is that you are expressing your pessimism, eh?  Bully for you.  Also, I had eggs on toast, and Captain Obvious didn't even offer to make 'em for me.  Sad morning.
