What’s on Tap for Feb. 21: Physicals, bullpens and BP

Today is the last day of just pitchers-and-catchers workouts. Position players report today for physicals. The team will hold its first entire team, full-squad workout Saturday…

Omar Quintanilla and Wilfredo Tovar reported on time, meaning everyone is in camp and accounted for…

It’s difficult to read the schedule, but it looks like Rafael Montero, Jacob deGrom and Jeff Walters may be throwing batting practice today. If that’s the case, my plan is to try and catch it, since I’ve still never seen Jake and Jeff pitch in person. Also, Bartolo Colon, Noah Syndergaard and Jack Leatherisch will be throwing bullpen sessions. And, naturally, I never get tired of watching Syndergaard, so expect some photographs of his session, among others, later in the day…

Yes, Colon is BIG, huge, even, but so is Valverde ( he's just a few inches taller) ! That being said, I was there watching them field bunts, coming off the mound, and BOTH of them move extremely well for such large men! Seriously, it's a cliché that makes you conjure up "Peter" from 'Family Guy' doing his SHIPOOPEE happy dance bit! But, they each were flawless and completed their DRILLS without any huffing or puffing. ( 76 degrees, nice breeze=Wednesday).

Look forward to seeing the pics, and what goes on today.  Love these posts from ST.  More of these, less posts about Drew please.  Most of us don't care if the Mets sign him.

Damn, was hoping Quintanilla would have gotten lost and not shown up.
