The Mets begin a four-game series with the Braves tonight at Citi Field, with Julio Teheran (7-5, 3.35) taking on Dillon Gee (7-7, 4.32) at 7:10 PM.

Also this past weekend, in case you missed it…

John Buck suffered a cramp during Friday night’s game. He did not play Saturday, but returned to the lineup Sunday.

Terry Collins told reporters on Saturday that Josh Satin will now get every start against left-handed pitching until Ike Davis can be more productive.

Lastly, Jenrry Mejia, Chris Schwinden, Jacob deGrom, and Rafael Montero are all being considered for Friday’s start during a double-header against the Nationals in DC, according to ESPN New York.

My bet is Schwinden or deGrom. Mejia had a nice game Saturday, he’s progressing well and I’m not sure it’s smart to rock his boat… let it keep sailing on course. Montero should not be added to the 40-man roster, when he doesn’t have to be protected from the Rule 5 Draft this year, just so he can make one start for the Mets and then get sent down. On the other hand, as Sandy Alderson explained on WFAN last week, deGrom does need to be protected this winter, so he’ll have to be added sooner than later. He’s moved quick through the system and the team is talking about him in that top group of pitching prospects. They like deGrom a lot, so it’d be nice to get a look what he’s about…
