its a shame that our best asset can be nutrilized form teams bringing in extra lineman and going max protect. It doesnt seem like we ever cause the QB trouble, its ether a quick pass, or they have the ball forever.

Bent, would Rex have to scheme differently if Wilkshake misses signifigant time? or can a guy like Barnes take his role for a few games?

@Bent

Bent Richardson wasn't even sniffing Cutler. He had Bushrod, Mills, and Kyle Long stonewalling him every time. You seem to defend Wilkerson and Richardson just like you defended Pouha and then put Harrison down. In fact on the drive that Harrison was driven back on the Forte run the offense was stopped in the redzone and resulted in a field goal. That constitutes Harrison holding his ground and not allowing the offensive line to get the same push on another play if they wanted to run at him again. Go back and look at Richardson on the first Cutler touchdown. What was Richardson supposed to be doing?? He spied on Cutler like a linebacker, that in itself is wasting a play on a player who can't get to the quarterback and bring him down consistently.

It gets said alot but i don't think i have seen anyone get held as much as Boss Hawg!  I would love to see a breakdown on how many missed holding calls there are with him a game...

@Bent

Looking back on that Forte run in the second quarter for 7 yards. Harrison initially blocked both De La Puente and Kyle Long, De La Puente went up the field block Pace (for reasons I don't know why he is looking like a middle linebacker when he should be on the edge and Davis is on the line ready to block  Bennett where he should be trying to help block up front and blow up the run) while Harrison took on Kyle Long he was able to get his hands free and grab Forte but Forte using his experience ran through with an initial burst up the field and Harrison had to bring him down from behind. Still the drive resulted in a field goal.

 I don't know how many times he Richardson couldn't get into the Bears backfield after getting blocked at the line of scrimmage. He just isn't physical enough.

@Chris Legge

Welcome to the NEW NFL there will be no holding calls made on pass plays just on running plays. Next game you watch you will see

@UncleJoesJetFarm Thats actually pretty darn good. Just need to finish off drives and stop turning it over.

I know they aren't going to put the ball on the one yard line in that situation, but how does that picture not blatantly show pass interference?

Bytor

@Hanknaples @Chris Legge This is a clown comment. Everybody is getting blocked at the line of scrimmage including your boy Snacks. The Bears constantly left extra blockers in and Boss was still getting penetration.

@Hanknaples  I dont think Harrison is doing a good enough job. They should bench him in favor of Ellis as he gets more pressure and that in turn will free up Richardson and Wilkshake.

@Hanknaples You realize every time you say something like this, Sheldon throws a lineman on his rear end, right?

Chris Legge
Chris Legge

@jaym @Chris Legge On that play when he wiffed the sack and Cutler just scampered away i was like WTH, then i saw the replay and the guard was in the process of tackling Sheldon...

@a57se  As we all would but this clearly shows the team is making progress and is heading in the right direction.

@UncleJoesJetFarm

Unfortunately they are 19th in points scored and 20th in points surrendered...

@MikeFrancesser Someone made the comment that Kerley would of got the call if he didn't catch the ball

Brendan
Brendan

@jaym Jay, we've tried that. None of Hank's personalities cares about that, they'll post it even if no one responds. Remember, Fonzie will go into a thread weeks and weeks old and start posting in it to argue these same points with no one (or sometimes Bent, if he's bored).

 Only the strongest survive on that line. Richardson's next.

 That is a perfectly good statement. Let the strongest survive. We will see everything blow up in Papa's face.

@levi @Hanknaples I don't think you're crazy. It's not like the trio of Ellis, Hogg and Wilk are bad run stoppers as a group. Maybe other teams will average 1.3 vs 1.2 yards per carry but we'll have an even better pass rush.

@levi @a57se

You could look at it that way...but it is too early to be hanging your hat on stats.

MikeFrancesser

Is that defensive points surrendered or overall?

johnsec125

@jaym @MikeFrancesser i said that last night. if you catch the ball they are less likely to throw the flag. what got me mad is i think it was the same jagoff that called the interference on the jets in the first quarter.

Maybe he should take lessons from a soccerer on how to "sell it"?

I think Brandon Marshall was diagnosed with Multiple Personality Disorder.  Maybe it was Borderline Personality Disorder.....who can tell.

It is more common than people are aware.

@Hanknaples @Bytor If by next you mean super star status than I agree. The dude will be better than Sapp.

Brendan
Brendan

@upstater So people can only look at stats when it makes the Jets look bad? Because people don't say these things when it supports a negative Jet-related viewpoint.

Wins are ultimately all that matters, but if that's all we were allowed to discuss TJB would become pretty damn boring.

levi

@a57se  Then why do you keep posting them?

@Bytor

Richardson's play hasn't come close that since he has been in the league. Either he picks up his play or he is going to get swallowed up.

Gotcha. Kinda pokes holes in the pieces argument, no? The pieces are good enough to move the ball a bunch, but not to score points? It's almost as if something, or someone else is at work here...hmmmmm

@Hanknaples Your bias against a dominant player early in his 2nd year is comical. I hope you're still around when he's delivering his HOF acceptance speech.

Yeah, must be the refs...I think the rest of the league owners were Obama supporters and they are mad at Woody for backing the Mitt man so now they are getting payback through the refs.

@Bytor

"Your bias against a dominant player early in his 2nd year is comical."

In your dreams Richardson's dominant.  If anything he should be thankful for Harrison for holding the line. Harrison is covering his behind. He didn't mention his defensive line mates when he accepted his award on stage last year as defensive rookie of the year. He is a boy amongst men on that defensive line and has to be moved back to 2nd string.

The turnovers are killers when you don't have a superior team.
