Video of Johan Santana talking Mechanics

“I’m able to throw my pitches, which is something I wasn’t able to last year,” Santana tells SNY’s Kevin Burkhardt in the above video.  “I’m now able to throw my slider, my change up, and my fastball without any problems.  I get to extend my arm, and I didn’t have that last year.”

BLAH BLAH BLAH..... I was saying Murry could do better than Felton did all year... Fatty SUCKED.... I'm just glad Lord of the Rings told him he has being traded in exit interviews!! What we need to do is look into signing Darren Collison, someone we were willing to trade young parts for last year..

miracle of miracles the positive patsy's knew murry was the answer all along, hindsight is 20/20 on the ship of fools.

Murry did shoot 43% from the field and 42% from three in very limited minutes. He is a good defender, so it's not unusual that other teams would be interested. The Knicks have had little interest in young players with upside and prefer to sign aging veterans on the decline. He will get a chance to play somewhere in the NBA. It looks like Kerr, Kidd, and Thibs, see potential there. Murry is a free agent and maybe he can turn this into a guaranteed contract.

This is hard to believe. Very random at the least.

AND I like The kid, before we made that fake run at the end, we had our best stretch with him getting significant minutes.... but... u know..... woodson

What a shock.

The whole league says we don't know what were doing, but everyone always wants what we got.

Another reason Woody needed to go. Woody has shown zero ability to develop young, cheap talent. Shump, Murry, Tyler. Discovered too late that Cole Aldrich was a better back up Center than Bargs. Last year realized too late that Indy struggled covering Copeland and that his outside shooting was a good compliment to Melo.

Woody didn't play Rookies. Period. If Murry has serious potential, I say let's keep him & try to find it, since we already traded all of our high draft picks ... through the year 2025!!!

.Funny...Woody didn't see any talent.......  Only played him in dire emergency.  What kind of interest would Aldrich get.....Woody gave him a game ball.

@Marvel  Woodson's refusal to play certain players (Copeland, Murry, MWP) was truly baffling at times.

@Marvel  him and shump in that back court forcing turnovers but nooooooooooo woody wanted to play felton

@Marvel i think murray should have been the first PG off the bench the whole season...and probably the starter during that stretch when Felton was hot garbage

@orlando_knickfan word...the problem was Woodson had no idea how to grow young talent...see Shumpert as a huge example. hopefully whatever coach we get knows how to use the strngths of the roster instead of relying on 87yr old vets for 40mins per game.

Q. Are you Bill Hosket, who played for Knicks in 1968-70? I was a Knicks' ball boy from '66-'69.

We have Murry's non Bird rights and can offer him 20% over the minimum. Also we use use our taxpayer MLE money.

@theking @Marvel exactly...like i said woody would rather rely on old ass vets for 40 mins than play young guys that have something to prove.

@jtru001 @orlando_knickfan I don't get the Shumpert argument though.  He started Shump from day one that Woodson took over.  Even when he first came back from his knee surgery.  It wasn't until the end of this season that Shump finally got replaced by JR.  If anything he overplayed Shumpert.  I always thought Shump was best as a defensive game changer guard off the bench.  His best stretch as a Knick was during Linsanity when he came off the bench but would close out games.

Not that I agree with Woodson rotations but what about Timmy Jr.?He got quality time

We have what is called non Bird rights; This exception would allow us to offer Murry 20% above the vet minimum.

NON-BIRD EXCEPTION -- This is also a component of the Veteran Free Agent exception. Its name is somewhat of a misnomer, since Non-Bird really is a form of Bird rights. Players who qualify for this exception are called "Non-Qualifying Veteran Free Agents" in the CBA. They are veteran free agents who are neither Qualifying Veteran Free Agents nor Early Qualifying Veteran Free Agents, and include the following:

  • Players who finished the season with a given team, who have played no more than one season without clearing waivers or changing teams as a free agent.

This exception allows a team to re-sign its own free agent to a salary starting at up to 120% of his salary in the previous season2 (not over the maximum salary, of course), 120% of the minimum salary, or the amount needed to tender a qualifying offer (if the player is a restricted free agent -- see question number 44), whichever is greater. Raises are limited to 4.5% of the salary in the first year of the contract, and contracts are limited to four seasons when this exception is used.
