Larages with another great catch last inning and Tejada cost us two runs. Take the bum out and put Flores in TC.

If the Mets put in their  best players every day they could  win the division.

Sit Grandyman.....he's toast....another management mistake.

Ike Davis is batting .285......good for him......he's bad mouthing the Mets now...since he got to the Pirates.

"Fire Terry Collins" should be shouted at CitiField when they come home.

And Tejada is back to being the everyday ss ( and batting 7th today)because Terry says he's been "barreling up" the ball.

He's 5 for 37(.135) in May with 3 RBI.

You've got to be worried about our leadership when that is perceived as "heating up"   Meanwhile, Flores, who legitimately has the chance to hit 300 with power, sits.

And Campbell who looked better in one day than DUDa had looked all season back to the bench.

And Terry looks especially idiotic that he just explained Legares sitting as his move to bolster the offense and then in Lagares 1st game back, he IS THE OFFENSE.

I've been a fan for 40 years and this is the least faith I've ever had in the combined leadership of a team in that time.  Definitely the blind leading the blinder, leading the blindest.

Better sit Lagares today, Collins.  Don't want him getting too confident.

Wow, Nats just put Gio on the DL. Probably thought something must be wrong if he got lit up by the Mets

Lagaras just proved why Collins needs to go.  Even if the guy starts to slump this is why you keep him in the lineup.  The defense will always be there and his offense is certainly improving.

I'm struggling with this. Wouldn't it make sense to go back to Campbell today? Reward the kid for yesterday? I mean it's Duda we're talking about, not Mike Trout.

What other profession are you penalized for doing a good job? I just don't get this guy.

Sitting Lagares was a joke. Lagares a better man than me, I would have told TC to f himself after yesterday's game

first fire collins.  he is an idiot if he thinks Legares should be on the bench.  also he says Tejada is his SS.  good. take him with you.

none of really makes a difference if Wilpon owns the team.

I would platoon at first with campbell getting all the at bats vs left  handers.  the guy has a very quick bat.  Duda cannot hit lefties.  hell , he can't hit period but a platoon in in order.  the biggest issue is still not committing to Legares.

TC will come home to Citi Morgue only to face The Wrath of The Met Fans! That's if any of us Show Up!

Terrys pissed, he said "It's not like I sat him for 7 days. Somebody gets a day off and it's like the sky's falling." - TC on Lagares.. hey terry, SHUT UP AND PLAY HIM.. and you sat him for like 5 games you dummy, that's a long time

Steven Glansberg

According to marc carig : "For cripes sake we're getting a little carried away here." - Terry on the Lagares hysteria.

We get it terry, you're mad that you got shown up by a great player... let it go, and play the kid every day

So, does Collins play Lagares and Campbell or does he sit them for playing too well yesterday?

@kph16  Tajada is making more money than Flores.

Duda is a making more money than Soup.

'Nuff said.

Except he was swinging at everything. Hopefully he won't now. It's a long season. If he misses three games and gets his head straight because of it then good. The kid plays great, until he reverts to being a .185 hitter.

@Chad Michael Agreed 100%.  Remember, though, Terry just last week said that he wasn't concerned about defense.  The more Terry talks. and the more he makes these baffling moves, the more I'm convinced that he's losing it mentally.

@moep  the rbis is pretty much a stretch. Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE for those numbers from him but I would say 60-70 rbis until he proves me wrong one day

@nolrog  .....  Collins has to go. He can't even recognize the reality of who is "hot" and who is not.

qualcomm

@Steven Matregrano Except his deflation stemmed from not playing and the three "strike hunters" starting instead of him have some ummm "mechanical issues" as well.

Granderson's mechanical issue is the walls are too far away and he's long in the tooth, Eric Young's mechanical issue is he has a raging case of "4rth outfielderitis" and finally Chris Young's mechanical issue is he's a bench player who's a proven sub-par hitter with the same power as Daniel Murphy.

We have one legitimate starting outfielder and he should never, EVER sit unless he's hurt.  With your logic, the entire team minus Murphy, Wright included, would be benched for the week.

qualcomm

@jlga He's no strike hunter! lol He keeps swinging at everything and getting those pesky hits.

cleonsvan

@jlga When was he a .185 hitter? If hitting .286 over a stretch of games is a slump then give me more slumps. Apparently hitting .200 as long as you use Sandy's approach is better than hitting .303 your own way. JLAg should have told the Mets to go F themselves and set himself up for a trade just like Harvey will eventually do.

I'm not sure he ever had it mentally. Just look at his track record. His other teams rebelled against him and had more success after he left.

@Steven Matregrano  And what if he goes 2-4?

Ride the hot hot hand. That's what most baseball people would say. The way this offense is going, can he really make them worse?

And please do us both a favor and don't tell me again how I don't know anything about baseball

@Steven Matregrano There are some major league players who feel Campbell should be a starting player. Now I haven't seen him enough to judge, but share with us why you feel he couldn't have blossomed late and what you're basing it on?

DON'T BE SLOPPY
DON'T BE SLOPPY

@Victor Triguero Yeah CY is gonna cost us to move him. We will have to eat most of his contract for the year plus we might only get a Bat Boy back. If we're lucky maybe a bullpen catcher or equipment manager.

Rubin just posted the lineup on Twitter. Legares is in the lineup. EY is in left. Grandy in right. Tejada at SS. Centeno behind the plate. Duda back in.

So much for those who wanted Campbell and Flores, but at least Legares plays. What 's that now, 7 straight starts for EY? Interesting.

jlga

And if they needed benching so be it.

Granderson and Chris Young make too much for this team to sit them. They shouldn't have been signed but they were. And with Eric Young starting they win. Lagares wasn't hitting so he was benched. They lost four games in a row when he wasn't hitting. Now we will see if he hits again. If he does then sitting him was a good thing. Let him work out his issues and go back to being a disciplined hitter. The other batters just can't hit. This kid can as long as he stays focused.

qualcomm
qualcomm

@jlga How about the people starting ahead of him?

jlga
jlga

He wasn't hitting at all leading up to yesterday. 5-27 in his past none games. The sitting did him well.

Bud Britton
Bud Britton

@jlga .242 would lead the outfield in hitting right now. Thanks for pointing that out. And we dont need the top five outfielder in the field on this team because we average scoring 10 runs a game and can afford having Jr. diving to catch balls that land 10 feet in front of him and the other young taking bad angles and playing outs into doubles that Lagares would glide under...

jlga
jlga

In the 9 games before yesterday he was 5-27 and swinging at every pitch near the plate. That's what he did last year when he batted .242. If he hits like he did yesterday from now on then benching him for three days will have paid off. Better to miss those games and get straightened out than to keep making the same mistakes as last year.

mustang66

why don't we let the mets know that is okay for them 2 lower payroll by trading chris young and eating part of the salary. It will not be held against you. Get rid of this lifetime 230 hItter and play j lag every game. And for you idiots trying to get better attendance, acrobatics, Homerun saving catches along with 300 hItting puts butS in the seats

jlga
jlga

As long as he's making $7.25 million he will play. They didn't pay him that salary to sit. He never should have been signed (nor shod have we signed Granderson) but that's our reality now.

Not4Nutten

They tryed to strip Tejada of his dignity, as they did Davis and are now doing to Lagaras. Wheeler and Mejia are not far behind! SA and TC are done here!
