seriously...does anyone here think that fraud d'arnaud belongs ANYWHERE NEAR THE MAJOR LEAGUES??. He is utterly pathetic at the plate, as he watches fastballs square over the middle of the plate for strike three at least twice a game...with that lost expression on his face. He will NEVER EVER be a major leaguer and really needs to BE GONE as soon as possible. BUT THEN AGAIN ...our brilliant genius and talent evaluator ALDERSON thought so much of this stiff that he traded DICKEY for him.

Every year the Mets make me countdown to the start of the NFL season

All of our good pitchers were drafted by omar minaya.. Alderson has done nothing to fix this mess... Time for change...and TC cant manage a bullpen. But then again all he has is a bunch of guys no other team wants patched together for our moneyball bullpen... This is a joke

How many games will the Mets lose before Tc is fired and Backman comes to manage?

I do have to say though - Mets, great loss tonight, but can you switch it up a bit and try to not lose tomorrow?

i guess im just making excuses, who knows how it would have changed things but 4th pitch to chris young was a ball, it should have been a walk to load bases for campbell young should not have had to sac bunt, and 2nd pitch to campbell was a ball should have been 2-0, i see he quickly followed team rules and struck looking on pitch right down the middle

I was pulling for Campbell tonight. Looks like he has a nice family. That said; this team... this team is not good

The Phillies are putting Nix and Galvis in tomorrow... there's six to eight easy strikeouts tomorrow.

We have Phillies trolls in here? Give me a break. Your team stinks just a little less. Have fun battling the Mets for last place all year.

Oh yea, and Mets, have fun with Cole Hamels starting tomorrow.

Why did Chris Young bunt up 3-1 in the count. I absolutely hate the sacrifice bunt. Such an overrated and outdated play.

Well, at least the announcers are good

we just have to accept that the people running this team don't know what they are doing. its been this way for years. we're just going to have to wait it out

Please folks...David Wright is NOT the problem here. He can't do everything and he's only going to get so many pitches to hit if everyone around him hits .200. He could have made the same or more money signing with another team. Then what would we be left with???

We love this team. We all do and we want nothing more than for them to win. We are diehards.

BUT.....

The more we watch or go to games the longer we will have to suffer. I love this team and want to support them too just like all of you guys. But the more we go to games we are just dojng what the wilpons want. The attendance is down more and more but that isn't enough. We need to force them to sell because it's the only way for us to win again. I will have more details coming up.

Our own version of the movie major league in the words of the Japanese guy the mets have no marbles!

Wright is not a clutch hitter

eric88

Wright has two HR's and 1st since Marcrh and 23 or so RBI's and people hear are singing his praises.

On a good team they would have dropped him down in the order and be concerned about his poor season with all the strikeouts.
This is a result of being a Mets fan and having lowered expectations. Instead of fawning over the player be objective and call it like it is, terrible.

Game on the line and he fouled out, what else is new.

@Scott Rogers  They are now trained from day one in the minors that strikeouts don't matter -- look for your pitch and if you don't get it, don't swing.  That mind set is drilled into them, and it determines their bonuses and whether they move up in the system.  And that's why we have a steady stream of players who take strike three in situations like that.  But don't worry, it's all part of Sandy's Secret Master Plan.

The same Cole Hamels this team always pounds, no matter how crappy they are? Check Hamels' career numbers against the Mets.

Hamels looked great his last start lol

Kyle Suta

That's exactly what I was saying in my last post

jonlga

And if he swung and popped out would you complain then too? The bunt worked. The next guy watched strike three. Blame that, not the bunt there.

Steven Glansberg

@Andrew Sodergren  It's just setting up a loser mentality.. it's 3-1 with your 5 hitter up, make him take a hack and see if good things happens

jonlga
jonlga

Sure. Let's forget his three hits and three RBIs. Let's also forget his .300 batting average, his lifetime .301 average, his average of 26 homers and 103 RBIs and his Gold Gloves. It's all his fault. Especially with the great protection he's getting from the cleanup hitters.

cooooolin
cooooolin

@Andrew Sodergren  You also have the same batting lineup that every team pounds, no matter how crappy they are.

cooooolin

@tigerinblu  I'm just relying on your bullpen and batters to do even worse, as they usually do.

Andrew Sodergren
Andrew Sodergren

@jonlga I just hate the sacrifice bunt. Giving up outs just isn't smart. It's old school, but it's not really a smart play. Especially with how much this team struggles to get guys in anyway. Use all three outs.

I could write pages of a detailed plan of what to do.

@ifti99  you need other people to pick it up as well. it isn't the NBA, you can't just win with DW.

Protection? You are a David Wright Kiss ass. Dude is not clutch plain and simple. He's getting paid big time money to produce and he's not doing his job.

Steven Glansberg

@jonlga  also he had a great bare handed play in the 9th before farnsworth blew up, but it doesn't matter
