According to espn the game is already ppd? Extra time to get to Denver.. Denver, the sunshine state, gorgeous!

7 31 mets colon---valverde==lagron===catcher===for damn thumper and shortstop.

mets stuck in 3rd place---playoffs we need damn ss---power bat why don't you propose a trade.or bring up campbellsoup--Montero labron.

I hope the Mets keep Niese and Gee for the next few years. They provide nice contrast to hard throwers like Harvey, Wheeler and Thor. Montero should be kept as an insurance to Harvey in case he needs more time or (knock on wood) is not effective. Colon should be traded and convert Meija as the closer.

Good game today. I really hope if the Mets have a good road trip, more fans start showing up to the home games. I've gone to two games already and it is too empty. We gotta show the players they have our support if they are playing well.

Good win.  Sandberg has his guys playing like a well rusted machine; Niese pitched very well (Can he be the vet of the staff when all the young arms come up?); nice night out of Ruben and Murph; and Colbert was.....Colbert.   1 game under .500 vs. the rest of the division.  Hopefully they can fix that manana....

Niese must be part dolphin - he pitched VERY well in very wet conditions. I just got MLB TV starting tonight so it was a nice way to start - 6-1 win against those #@#$# Phillies in their own damn park. GO METS!

This is what the game day Scout said. "That was pitch number 15 for Jose Valverde; his effectiveness may start slipping, as he holds opposing hitters to a .265 average in the first 15 pitches but they hit .400 off him after that."

Put it in the books!

Anyone else get the feeling Valverde will be off the team by June 5th?

We need to save Valverde for the Home Run Derby contest during the all-star break.  He seems to be the perfect pitcher for that event.

Valverde has shown the ability to get lit up.  In this ballpark he could be dangerous.

So if the Mets are in the race late July, should Sandy trade Colon and bring up the prospects (Montero or Thor)? Assumption is that Sandy will get a substantial return for Colon, since for a marginal return, Sandy would not trade Colon.

I rather keep Dice-K for the ninth inning.

Who's the closer? Dice-k?

@Sean Lee IDK if its true but someone told me he cut his index finger doing some cooks at home and that is why his finger is tricky. so he cannot pitch much.

@Sean Lee  so....they already light him up....then light him up way more after 15 pitches....nice

Likely to give up 2runs before ending the game.

That's exactly what he should do, but he will have to eat some $. I see a trade for SS if we keep it up.

@Sean Lee  if you can get something substantial, then yes....ie a top hitting prospect

@Antonino Plaud 731 trade valverde and colon tnhrow in Montero catcher for thumper.

@Antonino Plaud @Sean Lee  Yea, but he doesn't have control of that 97 mph FB. I wish he could be the closer, but he is too wild. I would love nothing more than to see Meija become a dominant starter but the Mets have a surplus at SP. His cutter might be too much for hitters who did not see him until the 9th (much like Mariano). Just my 2 cents.

The game experience from my point of view is so much better when it's a packed house. I remember the energy at Shea stadium during 06, 7, 8 (winning seasons). Maybe the reason why Mets have been a bad home team is because it's practically home for the road team. I understand they have to win to get fans, which is why I feel if they continue winning, we have to increase our support.

@Eric Koeller @Sean Lee  SS or 1B or OF? SS and 1B are obvious choices but an OF prospect with power or a true lead off potential will solve our OF "rotation" problem and also put EY as a 4th OF.

@Sean Lee  Matt Lindstrom was a sore-armed righty who was NEVER healthy a full season in the big leagues. Only the morons who hated Omar Minaya keep referring to that clown as a significant player. Nowhere in the civilized world does a STIFF like Lindstrom even matter.

@Antonino Plaud @Sean Lee  Hope you are right. The Mets also had another pitcher, Matt Lidstrom, who could hit 100mph but he was wild. He became modestly successful with another club but I am not sure if he is still playing.

Eric Koeller
Eric Koeller

@Sean Lee @Eric Koeller  depends on who's available to be traded...a SS or power hitting OF would do nicely.

and I'm fine with 1B...if Duda can hit like he is now .250 .333OP 4Homers a month, I'm fine with him being our 1B
