Id give Niese and Gee one more start. if neither perform, I'd trade em to the cubs or Rockies. Throw Colon in that mix

Any one want to check out a real nice swing go to las vegas 51s website and they show the replay of Reynolds Hr the other night this kid has a great compact swing .He is going to be a real good ball player.I am looking forward to seeing this kid when he comes up.

Once Niese gave up the 3 in the 1st the game was over. This is not a team that can get behind early against a quality pitcher. Reading post after post about Collins is idiotic. He isn't a great manager, but the best managers in baseball can possibly win an extra 5 games over the course of a season. That's coming from Tony LaRussa, a pretty smart guy. It's just not a good enough roster. Until Fred Wilpon is willing to spend real money, this is what we will get, regardless of the manager.

Hey we should give Lageras his nickname the thief or Lageras Island.

Checked in and knew immediately that the Mets were losing big time or had already lost based on the number of comments.  That's ok.  We'll get em tomorrow!  Only 8 games back in the wild card race.  Its already a great season by Mets standards!  Maybe next season they'll only be 7 games out of the wild card race at this point!  Then.... its LGM!!!  LGM!!

I'm confident Alderson is going to add another Chris Young type player for next season!  No worries.  We're in good shape.  Just be patient. By 2018 - 2019, they're going to be in the position to be just a piece or 2 away from being considered a legitimate piece or 2 away from being possible wild card contenders!

LGM!! LGM!!

I'm not one of those people saying David wright was a waste of money or any of that crap, but I'm seriously concerned about him. He usually breaks out of these slumps after a week or so but this has been a good month and a half where he's looked absolutely blind. I hate seeing him like this, because I also think that every time he hits the ball hard, some unfortunate even happens that screws him out of a hit.

Like I said I hope he finds a way, but he's having some SERIOUS issues at the dish right now

Couple quick points...

1-Kevin Plawecki is the NYM catcher of the future not darnaud

2-Gavin Cechenni or however u spell the kids last name will never be a starting major league ss

That is all

I just rewinded by DVR to see Terry in the dugout to see if I was exaggerating...management needs to question that. You can't have your manager leaning up against the wall looking the way he did. Especially during a loss

if the mets are counting on the great pitching we have coming we are going to be dissatisfied.  Our pitchers are not on the top of the food chain. If we don't get some decent hitting mixed with decent pitching we will never be contenders just pretenders

If there is anyone that we should be fuming at is Terry sitting in the dugout looking like he was falling asleep or disinterested. Unacceptable

Why is my comment about Wright pending? Anyone know?

who watching the post game show???

Agreed. The biggest problem with the franchise isn't Collins or Alderson. Their payroll is embarrassingly low, and they haven't made one move this season to add to it. That's a function of ownership.

@Jason Finck I was in 6th grade and was excited about getting a new Trapper Keeper myself.  '86 is all but a memory anymore

You think they lost tonight because of Ruben Tejada and Chris young. Lol.

@Tormented Mets Fan I don't think DW is done but he needs some serious help in the lineup  if the mets could add 2 big bats to this line up DW would be fine. upgrade SS and LF lengthen the lineup and everybody should improve. just imagine for argument sake a lineup that read 1 Grandy 2 DW 3 Murph 4 Tulo 5 Duda 6 Cargo 7 TDA 8 Lagares. I think that makes everybody better

NorthWest

@Tormented Mets Fan  Wright had his best years when he had sluggers like beltran Delgado reyes even loduca in the lineup with him just sayin

@NorthWest Plawecki has a really nice bat but im not giving up on D'arnaud yet, but either this offseason of trade deadline one of them has to get moved.

Flores would be HOF bound (along with JV1) if it weren't for Collins!!

And he was our answer at shortstop. If you're gonna find a solution you better be damn sure it's actually an improvement. Not a cheap fix. COUGH COUGH CY

Ha, Leiter was great on the Mets. Are you kidding?

Al Leiter had some excellent seasons for the Mets. I'd be thrilled if we had a few of him

I've stopped complaining about Terry because we all know the front office isn't planning on doing anything. Their perfect "go with the flow" formula is in place with Freddie Sandy and Terry

@Jason Finck According to most...David is more Captain Caveman or Captain Crunch now...or even Captain Samoa

That's what I think it is, which drives me nuts. Go on the DL! Rest up!

@Brian Aragon @NorthWest  I don't want to give up on darnaud yet but its obvious to true baseball fans that he will never be a good pro hitter. The mets will give him the rest of this season but in the end I think it would be wise to see what plawecki can do in the show.

BerryBeltran
BerryBeltran

@metjim @BerryBeltran The Wright stuff is just immature at this point and I know they are doing it on purpose to F with people....I am not even acknowledging their posts anymore

You don't have to spend 150m, but you need to be able to add a few pieces that can put you over the top. The Mets will have the young top line pitching to become a playoff team. They have to spend some money to add a few everyday players.

1harris1
1harris1

But that's very hard to do, and you have no margin for error when the payroll is that low .

There's absolutely no reason why a team in NY shouldn't be able to maintain a 100 million dollar payroll. Does that guarantee success? No, but it makes life a lot easier for your front office.

It's unrealistic to expect to be successful where they are payroll wise at present

1harris1

Oh, I don't fault him. Stealing money is a talent.

NorthWest
NorthWest

@Tormented Mets Fan  then it was all about the bats..now its all about the pitching. Also nowadays you wont find a thriving carlos beltran type hitter in the FA market unless a rare one like Cano comes up and those players command sick salaries

Brian Aragon
Brian Aragon

@NorthWest He has hit at every level through the minors. I think he will figure it out, but if he doesn't I love knowing Plaw is in the wings. Even if TDA is a "bust", getting Noah was well worth trading RA.
