Collins makes me crazy. When he pulls a starter, does he take a nap and tell someone to wake him once the game is tied or we are losing? I've seen it a number of times this year already. So frustrating. If you are a starter on this team you gotta try to be perfect cuz the pen is truly awful. Losing leads late in games is really becoming a regularity with this team. Bull pen needs a nut check. Pull someone up from AAA - cannot possibly be worse.

How about reacting to the fact that for both his time last year, and the first 30 games this year, DarNAUD  has no right to be starting at the major league level.  Let him go down and figure it out(or not), and lets run Recker out there, who gives you a competitive at bat.

Right now, our 7,8, 9 spots in the order are like a black hole of 3 auto outs, and good teams can't afford that.

Feel bad for Niese that he was a victim of this circus

I think we might want to revisit Valverdes's spot and look at moving Vic Black (era 0.97) into it NOW PLEASE!!!

You get what you pay for folks. If you cut half these players tmrw, not a single one would be picked up. Tejada , Q, Satin, Farnsworth, Valverde , Daisuke, Rice etc. That's your starting SS, 8th and 9th relievers, half your first base platoon We don't need any of that right? Insignificant right? Loaded everywhere else. Don't worry , next year. Then we will be told to be patient with the young pitching

Forecast

Syndegaard in rotation  3 minutes after his super-2 deadline. Mejia covers 7-8th inning. Anthony Recker as closer.

@Andrew Garber

TC did the same thing with Mejia on Sat.

An Omar draft pick pitches lights out and the Sandy SS, offense, and bullpen blow it. Business as usual.

First time commenting on a blog and I have been reading this for years. What a horrible loss!!! How can Terry Collins leave Dice K in after Stanton's AB. Dice K clearly did not have it tonight and even though McGehee should have been out he fell behind in the count yet again. So, TC leaves him in against the lefty which he started out with a ball. Smh...I am not calling for his head or to be fired but damn sometimes his decisions are mind boggling. I believe that cost us this game more so than Quintanilla's blunder.

The fact that people are saying that "Terry left Dice-K in too long" proves all of my points about Sandy. John Lannan made this team out of ST too if anyone remembers.

If I were David wright I would demand a trade. This is a damn joke. F the mets and I'm done watching their games . I stuck with them for years but the stuff I'm seeing is just too ridiculous. F u wilpon

I am so pissed today. Mets lost. Rangers got shut out. I need to vent this out of my system. Good night.

If it weren't for Grand Master Ching Chang we'd be in first place!

Lot of calls for Wally tonight.  Wally can't save this mess.  He may do a better job with the roster, but the roster is still the roster.

I dont usally post on blogs so sorry if i am a little off on some things. I love the mets and always will but this is getting annoying. Grant it its only may we have a lot more baseball ahead of us. We have stretches where we look like a team that can steal a playoff spot, then we have games like this. Sandy and the wilpons need to get their act together. This team has so much potential with their young power arms but they are not coming up until  next month or so. With that being said we need to sign a SS or trade for one, tejdia D has been consistent but his bat is awful. Omar is Omar to me nothing but a bench player, we need a SS if we are even thinking about getting to 90 wins. Travis is hot and cold but i expect that, its his second year and he still trying to get a feel for the majors. And we need a damn closer im sorry no one on this team besides familia is even considered to me, but he needs to show me he can throw more strikes. Then there is terry he sits chris young who has been red hot and lageres who have been red hot, i understand players need a break but they are a huge contribution to why we are scoring runs. I guess what i am trying to say is that its early on in the season but some major changes have to be made before the trade deadline all around in order for this team to even have a chance to make a post season run. I love collins he gets these players to play hard but i just question some of his decisions every damn day way to much. I think he needs to go after this season, let some one else coach this team.

I 'm concerned about him. At some point, you have to produce.

Hate to say it but starting to look that way. He looked like he was going to start hitting - had a nice 3 game stretch. Too short lived though.

I feel bad for the entire starting rotation.

@metsrule Yup. I swear, listen to Keith and Ronny D - Gary C asks them 'what would you do here' - and most of the time it is opposite of what Collins did. And most of the time Keith and Ronny are right. Case in point - the strike em out throw em out DP I think it was the 8th. Gary C asked Keith if you send Duda on 3 and 2 with D'Arnaud up. Keith says no way. Slow runner (and that is being nice) and not exactly a guy that makes contact a lot in D'Arnaud. Understand trying to make something happen, but wrong personnel to do it with.

@metsrule I concede that Terry sucks, but I can't actually judge him as a manager with a team that hasn't had talent since he's been here

Not for nothing you sound like a disgruntled former employee of Sandy's...

@Andrew Garber Agreed that the Mets should have spent money upgrading their bull pen to even be considered seriously winning 90 games. There will be about 20-25 blown games like these one that will leave this team about a 70 win team.  Sandy and the Wilpons should spend some Money and NOW! Don't waste this team's awesome starting pitching!

What does Terry leaving Dice K in too long have to do with Sandy?

I am far from a fan of this organization, but if we couldtrade David Wright and get something for him we would be a lot better off

Whos grandmaster Ching Chang?

Andrew Garber
Andrew Garber

@metsrule They don't need an excuse to think they're any good, but hell, this team hasn't improved when they suck so why the hell not.

mustang66

he led them to first place last year despite the fact that has his roster was in the major leagues

Andrew Garber
Andrew Garber

@Geoff Beers Terry has always gotten a team with little to no talent to play hard. He's a god awful game manager but he really doesn't impact the game as much as people think, that would have more to do with the miserable washed up nobody's that Sandy found in the dumpster OUTSIDE of goodwill.

metsrule

But this was supposed to the year, what a joke. They Granderson, Colon, and CY. 2/3 have been decent as of late while the other 33.3% has been eating deep fried Oreos

Andrew Garber
Andrew Garber

@Andrew GarberI'm not sure what the actual number is, but we've led in almost every game this year. Sandy has no emotional investment in this franchise, so we can invest more of the same mind numbing gift-basket games. The Marlins have a whole storage locker filled with our gifts.

Andrew Garber
Andrew Garber

@blueorange the fact he was even faced with a decision (whether right or wrong) to use him in the major league bullpen is just laughable. Nobody wanted him as a SP and now he pitches the 8th inning for us lol. Nothing ever changes with this team and It's because we have a GM who literally doesn't care about the MLB club.

Andrew Garber
Andrew Garber

@metsrule Yeah, we wish. Instead of one more year of arbitration we get Colon cancer for 2 years. But I hear it's treatable.

Andrew Garber
Andrew Garber

@metsrule Don't get me started on Bartolo the clown. Everything that's wrong with baseball. Wish I could watch Montero on the hill tomorrow

Andrew Garber
Andrew Garber

@blueorange They'll be judged on actions not words. So far Sandy is 4-0 in trading major league talent for prospects that they are too cheap to call up.

blueorange
blueorange

Yes he does but at this point I don't think it's the right move. Too early in the season. If he did I would not be upset.

blueorange
blueorange

I disagree, but tonight when he couldn't find the strike zone he should have been pulled.

blueorange

Dice K pitched very well at the end of last year and he has pitched well so far this year. He had an off night, it happens.

Andrew Garber
Andrew Garber

@Geoff Beers @Andrew GarberI don't think he's the answer, but I do think he's gotten more out of this garbage roster than most managers could have despite his inability to make some little league grade decisions. This team had way more talent under Jerry and they dogged it quite often.
