Man I Must be in the minority here. I actually feel comfortable with mejia as our closer. His era is inflated because of his starts this year

Sorry I tuned out during the game. What did terry do to get everyone mad here?

Mejia did everything but put his hand to his ear.    you just know the first walk off HR he gives up, the guy is going to STOMP on home plate

Can't wait to hear TC's post game interview where he pats himself on the back for such a well managed game.

@knicks2015 Sure, I'm sure that there are many clubs who will be interested in taking a .215 hitter at, even let's say $10Million a year for the next three seasons after this one. Yeah, that's a $5MIL discount paid by the Mets, but it's also $30Million outlay for 2015 - 2017. Would you spend $30Million on Grandy? Where do you guys come up with this stuff?

They have us exactly where they want us, we can't win either way

I see your point, but I really can't root for my favorite team to lose

I actually didn't realiZe he got his average up to .238. Last I checked he was around .215

He's inconsistent but reliable. Not sure if that makes sense but I don't think some of us realize the fact that we have a closer in general. Usually when you lose your closer the whole year like Parnell it's kind of a flip flip role the whole year

People blame Collins so they don't have to admit to themselves that their team just flat out sucks.

Sort of like how the angels once fired arrows when they got to Fernando rodney

@docj every met closer the last six plus years has been our john franco, mets can never make things easy.

@ponzies86 You want to take credit for arguing against someone who's delusional? I believe you've posted extensively about what a bad player Lucas Duda would be. In fact, here's a quote from you from 9 April of this year: "TC thinks because duda is tall and big that he right away deserves a job in an everyday lineup SMFH open your eyes OLD MAN Duda is not a MLB player! ". You were completely wrong about that and now you are trying to appear insightful - yes you are insightful compared with a fellow poster who's delusional - feel better?

Inconsistent but reliable. Haha, never heard that one before.

Ehh. If mejia is our closer opening day 2015, I won't complain

Well we have some fellow Mets fans who think otherwise

@jakepolom Same here. But in a fielding pinch in the ninth, he can't throw any better that Jeurys. Neither is ideal. But I'll take Mejia...minus his David Ortiz Hot Dog Act.

@gts41 @jenkins sometimes I don't watch even when I can-but I come here.

That's a little nuts, actually

@Tormented Mets Fan Ok. Whatever. It's a blog. But don't try that at your your next job interview: So, TMF what do you think your greatest stength is? Answer. I'm reliable and inconsistent. Awkward silence. Thank you for applying TMF. Next!

Hahaha no this is baseball we're talking about not a job opportunity. That's when I pull out the suit and tie and take the Harvard diploma off the wall
