Just give my man Wally the manager job already. I f*ucking guarantee that alone would put asses in seats.

This might be the worst Mets offense I've ever seen in my 23 years alive.

I hate listening to TC, he sounds so dumb.

Miami and Houston have lower payrolls, but a much more promising future..Sandy is responsible for this mess..he need s to go and take Terry the loser with him

I feel like we're in a hostage situation with the Wilpons owning the team.

Well, gotta say I'm not disappointed cause I had zero expectations

It is depressing when you see teams like Houston and Miami make quantum leaps while we chronically suck.  It's amazing how they can turn on a dime and go from being so much worse to so much better.  Glad we have Sandy the resident baseball genius running our team.

I'm starting to feel like it doesn't matter who we bring in here this team isn't gonna get better . Like I feel let's say by some miracle we squire Stanton I have a feeling he will lose his abilities to hit homers and he become the next Jason bay or curtis granderson

During fTuesday's game, I thought I wanted to go out and see Wheeler pitch on Sunday, but I can't take watching this team live right now. I might as well toss $150 in the Bay.

Not going.

Can't wait for the offseason so Sandy can bring in some more .220 hitters.

This no longer a money thing.

I question the connection between the Wilpons and Alderson, Alderson and Collins.  Mates look after mates, and not one of those in a position of power will act on anything to depose a mate.

The money may not be there - but neither is the leadership.  The Wilpons wont sell.  Alderson will be around until HE decides to leave. And Terry will be manager as long as Sandy is the GM

I couldn't agree more, enough Terry Collins and his BS culture of losing. Wally deserves a chance to show what he can do, Collins must go

@nymetsrule  You're too young to remember 1994 I guess, but Bobby Bonilla was the best offensive player on that team...so believe it or not it actually has been worse in your lifetime. That season mercifully ended early.

@kefhrny17 "I'll tell you what Kevin. Niese pitched a heck of a game. 7 innings and what, 2 runs? Heck of a game he deserved a win. We had our chances on offense but we just couldn't pull through. I told Niese not to worry about it and we'll pick him up next time. I'll tell you that Wright is going to get a day off soon. He has been struggling at the plate and he needs to clear his mind."

@kefhrny17 that's what you get when he signed right out of high school and has been in baseball for 45 years and never once went to college. Plus 10 years back he was convicted of DUI - he is dumb.

@Keith Allen-Verdi  Correction: The Wilpons are responsible for this mess. Alderson has made some mistakes, but the Mets have one of the top-ranked farm systems in the game right now. What they don't have is a whole lot of talent at the ML level.

jenkins

@Macacawitz Houston was smart. Said we're gonna eat it for three years, collect the most talented kids and let them learn at the ML level.

@jenkins  Spend it on something worthwhile.  Good food, good drink.

Well, the way Wheeler has been pitching of late, that could be worthwhile to see in person - even if the Mets lose.

@bcpics  Sandy and Terry are there puppet yes men but its not the problem. The problem is Bud Selig is the one making sure his buddies the Wilpons hold on to this team. That is why he gave them  Sandy to do the dirty work.

@Son of Harley Alfonzo was my all time favorite Met growing up so it would make sense that I started paying attention in 1997.

@Son of Harley @nymetsrule they were putrid.  Lenny Randle their starting 3rd baseman would hit between 2 and 5 homers for the entire year when he wasn't beating up 3rd base coaches.

I know there is some history between the Wilpons and Selig - I just don't know what the answer is.  I can't believe that the Wilpons would be content to watch this franchise slowly self destruct?

go ...

maybe you'll catch a win or see something you've never seen before

maybe it will break the cosmic jinx this team has wrapped tightly around its neck
