Wally, Wally, Wally! He spoke the facts in his way, they are in 1st place without many super prospects and the 1or 2 they do have are not the reason they are in 1st, it's Wally's leadership, I am sure that worse has been said in the privacy of a locker room, would love to know who taped and released that video, they should be cut from the organization without a second thought. Wally talks about knowing when someone is scared or playing in fear mode, 86 Mets played with swagger and no fear and Wally was one of the toughest guys on that team, TC on the other hand always seems at a loss, justifying poor performance and babying players, does not have it! Backman does, give him a shot once and for all.

Goodnight.  I love this team, and I respect you fine folks, but the President released the Taliban Dream Team, and now wants to ally with Tehran and fight the Al Quaeda in Iraq.  I don't think Sandy Alderson is our biggest problem.

Seven men left on base so far - yeah that sounds about right. This team with men in scoring position are so meek and awful. It is harder to watch then the Old Dominion Moving commercials.

The Mets have made me hungry, so I am going in the kitchen where I don't have to see the television.  Thanks, Mets.

Now that de Grom and Montero have significantly lesser trade value, is even 60 wins possible?

DW made 30 million dollars when coke bought vitamin water. DW took stock as a rookie and it worked out huge when coke bought them out.

I turned the game off a while ago, but this is my last post before I get off here.

Some of us (myself included) have started to think that David Wright has quit on the mets. But has he really? No, it's the other way around. The mets quit on David Wright and all of us.

We haven't had a winning season in 6 or 7 years. And at the end of each year, we've heard the same thing. "We're gonna have a big year next year. Year after year, as David Wright slowly reaches and passes his prime, the Mets refuse to give David Wright the support he needs to rally the troops and get the team back to the playoffs. We build a stadium for our shortstop, and proceed to let him walk away. Now this ballpark is a weakness for David Wright, as his best years are going by without any improvement, just false hope. The only "improvement" we've even tried was this foolish moneyball approach, thinking that we can catch lightning in a bottle, and of course this failed as well. So here we are, David Wright is in the biggest struggle of his career, and in a division which has no clear front runner thus far, we will likely find ourselves in the cellar again. And once again we'll hear the "201_ is the year we finally turn the corner". Will we really? Or will the Mets continue down their path to shattered hopes and dreams. This is really long and I'm not even gonna read it back to myself, as David just got a hit. So think about it really good, do you have any faith in the Wilpons or Aldersons? If your answer is yes, you clearly haven't experienced the struggles that we have all gone through since the epic September collapse and the called third strike. Because that's when this plunge into nothingness began.

@Keith Allen-Verdi  I wouldn't mind this mentality one bit. This current Mets team needs a big swift kick in the a$$,they are way too soft and "Mr yes man"doesnt do a dam thing about it!

So,I agree "free Wally"

@Keith Allen-Verdi Can you imagine Wally the Mets manager talking like this in front of Sandy and Wilpon in the locker room after a game or before ????

They are going to think if he is drunk or sober. Forget Wally as our manager it ain't going to happen unless Wilpon sells the team and guess what?

@greekgod that really worked for Lincecum

@John Kranzley It may be optimal offensively (whatever that means for this team) but Grandy in CF, Abreu in RF,  EY in LF and Flores at SS is easily the worst defensive lineup the Mets can muster. Them not scoring AND kicking the ball around will get old QUICK

@sandybgone Second verse same as the first, right?   2012..Mets are competing until 3 weeks before the deadline, and all we heard from Sandy was that he'd make a move if it was warranted and made sense at the time.  He did nothing, the deadline passed and the Mets ultimately fell out of contention.  Fan consensus at the time was the team tanked because they were collectively let down by the lack of moves at the deadline.  Not sure about that, but I'm pretty sure that won't be a concern this year...can't tank from here.

DON'T BE SLOPPY
DON'T BE SLOPPY

@sandybgone First payroll dump will be Colon, second will be Murph. All we will get for both of them is unproven prospects who Sandy will say have "potential". Mean while the guys we do get back won't even be top 10 rated prospects in their teams farm system.

John Paul Cullinane

Bartolo...gone

Murphy...might be gone

Chris Young...maybe gone if we eat most of his remaining contract

...get that payroll under $65 million, Sandy!

So well said. It can't help that three former teammates (Reyes, Thole, LoDuca) have all recently come out and said that either they feel sorry for Wright or that he should be traded. Then Matt Harvey calls out the pitching staff and management for not protecting David. I am sure he hates to be the center of attention and just wants to work on getting his swing back so he can help his team, even though ownership has done nothing to help him and, some may argue, went ahead and built a stadium that played against his natural strength. I think Wright is the perfect face of this franchise right now...when I look at him I can see the pain of all mets fans year after year. Sad, very sad.

Father's Day...you could pitch 50 cent and the stadium would have been full.
