Does Wheeler and deGrom's development give you an opportunity to trade Harvey for two cornerstone pieces?

What we all need to realize is the mets are not contenders. We mets fan watch every night and most of us believe in our team thanks to our pitching. Our offense absolutely sucks, even with Harvey we are a 82-82 team we need a SS and a LF a true leadoff hitter and a power hitter. Once Ownership is able to acquire a valuable bat and show us that this is NY then as fans it's time for us to get truly invested. No use in emotionally investing yourself watching these games. Lagares alone saves this game in the 5th inning he's a 2 war player no need to take him out of the lineup. I feel your pain guys and I do watch the games to see our pitching and it is always pleasant to watch players evolve like Duda. To me we are 2 moves away from being a contender One Big free agent signing and One trade this needs to be done

On a side note I believe it was 2 years ago mets were in position to trade for jutin Upton and Micheal bourn those type of moves will put us right there .

For those of you that want to move Murph for Flores, you are nuts!

The only hitting that matters in Vegas is in the casinos!

d'Arnaud was awful....can't get the runner in from third with one out and nonchalants the ball in the dirt with two strikes/two outs and gets Brewers' rally going.

His defense and throwing are sub par!

Mets selling $11 tickets on Groupon...if that doesn't tell you everything you need to know what else does?

I think at the deadline (or this off season) the Mets need to make a strong push for Matt Kemp.  LF is a position of great need, he's in dire need of a scenery change, he (or Crawford) are blocking Pederson, and he's 18 months removed from being an elite player in this league.  I'm fairly certain the Dodgers would pay a large portion of his remaining contract (or a small portion if Sandy doesn't want to part with a high end prospect.)...he's 29 and a RHB....

Forget about the Nats and the standings. If the Mets continue at the same win rate the rest of the season they will win 76 games, a whopping 2 games better than last year.

The Mets will use David Wright's contract as an excuse to not sign a real hitter. They'll whine that they can't pay guys more than Wright who has been a good trooper and the face of the franchise for years.

This team redefines "the law of average."

@Steven Molello @C.K. Dexter Haven Mets wouldn't have to pay big bucks, LA is the one with the problem.  Second..his injury was last season.  I'd take his .273/8/40 and competent defense in LF right now over what we've had thus far

@Bob Higgins What makes you so comfortable saying that about a 29 year old former MVP runner up?  he's playing...everyday now in a bad situation for him.  how do you know he just doesn't need to get away from that?

@Bob Higgins  Really? He's 22.... and pressing. If the poster above is frustrated think about how he is.

While that isn't exactly what you want I'll take it. The Brewers have a legitimate lineup let's hope ,DeGrom goes out there and the mets give us more than 3 runs. We really need to go 8 out of 10 again to catch up but with pitching anything is possible

@citifield @sandybgone As I keep saying good bats are now about $20 million a year...Will the Mets pay that kind of money? Why should we believe they can or they will?

Does anyone think this team can actually win 6-8 games or more in a row? Cause they need a streak and I just don't see it.

I love Harvey's moxie, very Seaver-like!

But other teams will be wanting to unload contracts, which the Mets will NEVER absorb, or trade for comparable talent.

A 1B pitching talent like Harvey is very hard to find!

I have my moments, my man lol

@citifield @Steven Molello A power bat who hits .215 and can't play defense isn't a difference maker on this team. They need a real player and sorry, but they can't afford real players.

Lol Jenkins I'm shocked lol but I do agree

@citifield @Steven Molello Name names...most of the better players have no-trade clauses. Who wants to come to this disaster of a franchise when there are 20 other franchises that want to win?
