Guys i think at this point the only way Flores is going to get any sort of consistent ABs is if he's the utility guy and platoon guy with Duda.  If they face one LHP a week...he gives Tejada a breather...gives Murph a breather..gives WRight a breather and then PHs occasionally too, he could get 12 to 15/16 ABs a week.  Other than that, i think management has made it clear that they're not willing to sacrifice solid defense for Flores' potential offense.  As we saw tonight, solid defense can be the difference between a win and a loss...

2015 prediction, closer Mejia 8th man Familia 7th Black 6th Parnell pending if we have the lead and or high pitch count so switch 6th and 7th. L Edgin long man Torres rhp German. Boy that was a quick turnaround from last year. Tolo getting traded along with Murph to an AL team after today's errors but hitting 3-4 tonight

if everyone wants flores to play, then give the guy a shot. while your at it give campbell a shot. trade murphy and some of our surplus of pitching and get a decent shortstop. give these guys a chance. i know they are still under .500 but for one year if we could be buyers at the trading deadline i think that would really help out the fans. but only make a trade if its a good one

As great as the 9th inning explosion was, what impressed me equally was the job Mejia did in locking it down. I envisioned something more soul crushing....

Can't wait till I start seeing kids in the street doing Meija's move after a big play. Amps you up seeing that!

@cyrus What frightens me, Cyrus, is that what you describe is the definition of a .500 team. Good games, you get all excited, but then back to poor games. I hate rooting for a .500 team. You can't really give up on them but, in the end, they leave you no where.

@C.K. Dexter Haven No.  He's just gotta keep doing what he's been doing.  I actually find the awkward humility endearing---when he's hitting!

@pochemu I still think Ike is the better defensive 1Bman, but yeah i was loud wrong about who should've been traded

@pochemu One run game in the 9th, you start putting defensive replacements in, not taking out your good fielders.  I have no special affinity for Collins, but no manager at any level would do what you're suggesting.  Its stupid.

@pochemu IF Flores was hitting at all on the ML level like he is in Vegas then maybe you take the risk.  But, Flores is pretty iffy right now and TC, Sandy and all of us WANTED that game after Duda's shot cleared the fence

Jimmy knew. No wait not really.

@Michael Leiman @cyrus Well, lets see how they finish out this trip.  We still have two games left with the Brewers, if we make this a .500 road trip winning a series against the M's and splitting with the Brewers, that's not a bad trip at all, especially coming on the heels of how we finished the first half.

This is a young team that is trying to learn how to win. It will come.

@pochemu @anymos The odds of scoring a run from first base with two outs is probably 10-15%.  I just don't see the sense in taking out your best defensive SS for a pinch hitter when the odds of scoring are so low.  I wouldn't even do it if Lagares was on second.  You have the lead already at that point, your primary objective is to protect it.  Not to mention Wilmer, who no doubt will ultimately will be a better hitter than Tejada, is batting .230 with no power right now- so the argument that he's a better hitter o bring up in that spot is not even correct at this point in time.
