Terry is going home on the little bus tonight.

There is no reason to be optimistic this season. But...there never had been a reason to be optimistic.

Poor performance by other teams isn't enough.

Right now were on target for 69 to 72 wins.  However, we still have to endure Terry's teams infamous second half nose dive.

"We catch the ball pretty good" Have you been watching all year terry, or are you taking cat naps in the dugout?

SMITH 1B, 1st round pick from last year, stinking up the joint.

Mets need a loose manager like joel madden (and dont bring up the rays record this year, their entire pitching staff is hurt).. he is constantly getting a lot out of very little by keeping his team loose and manipulating what he has

For you guys that wanted Plawecki to come straight to the bigs from AA -- he's hitting .083 in Vegas.

Mets 21/2 GAMES OUT OF DEAD LAST IN THE NL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@eric88 100 losses is possible. I don't know if I can see the Mets winning another before the ASB.

@Steven Matregrano You're acting as if the Braves and Nats are BOTH gonna be like, "Ah screw it, lets start losing." and the pathetic Mets are gonna be like, "Ah screw it, lets start winning." You think that is really likely? Sure, mathematically the Mets have a chance of making it to the playoffs, but you also mathematically have the chance of someone handing you ten billion dollars. Do you expect it?

@Steven Glansberg he might as well take cat naps. i don't even think THAT would get him fired

@Steven Glansberg Not to mention "pretty good" is not correct.  I wish this man would learn to speak english, not to mention manage a baseball team.

Hitting278with a ops of 750 in last 10 games, hardly stinking up the joint especially since he is young for the league and hit under 200 the first month.

Been there for a few days, give it some time before you hang him

Not gonna happen, sorry to say

@eric88 @fatherflot starting to think we may NOT see him before September call ups.  And that's fine with me.  Let him dominate AAA first.

fatherflot

@gpopper Not hanging him.  Just saying that it would have been a disaster to bring him to the majors without AAA seasoning.

@Steven Matregrano @nymetsrule You're the kind of person who's going to really struggle accepting your death when the time comes. There are certain things that, you can try to put a nice spin on it and be positive, are definites in life. One is you will die at some point. Two is the Mets will tank into last place the rest of this year. The first one you have many years left to prepare for.

gpopper

He's not ready to come up, yet. Hate for them to bring him up as a show of a move and he lose any confidence he has in himself.

gpopper
gpopper

On that I completely agree

bbr7
bbr7

@gpopper maybe 95 or 100 you never know. aim for the sky

gpopper
gpopper

Don't think 100, but close maybe, never know. Either way it's hard to see more than 70 wins

bbr7
bbr7

@gpopper do any of our prospects pan out? seriously this prospect sh-t is a joke. for every 10 prospects we bring up one or two pan out

gpopper
gpopper

But that's the case with a lot of teams. That's why they're prospects only. We haven't had a " for sure" position player prospect in a long, long time. and there aren't really any out there right now that I can see.

bbr7
bbr7

@gpopper this team is a straight up mess. it shouldn't be like this. we are exactly where we were 6 years ago. that's abysmal

gpopper
gpopper

As long as we have the people in the front office that we have, this is going to be it. Alderson is pure snake oil salesman, Wilpons are interested in recouping their money, TC is a joke. As long as Bud is in the office, nothing is changing and if Alderson becomes Commisioner, forget it. Like you said, a complete mess.

bbr7
bbr7

@gpopper i dont know a dumber team in sports. we signed chris young, jason bay, oliver perez, traded kazmir for zambrano, signed mo vaughn, and every single one of these deals i absolutely knew were completely retarded

bbr7
bbr7

@gpopper if every instinct they have is wrong they should just do the opposite like george costanza in seinfeld. we would be world series champs

gpopper
gpopper

Lol you my have fallen onto something there

gpopper
gpopper

Ryan wasn't the pitcher then that he lAter became. The Seaver mess was the worst thing that could happen to the Mets, a lot of political BS in that

gpopper
gpopper

Davis was what it was, he was never going to make it here

bbr7

@gpopper we let reyes walk and got nothing in return

vimets
vimets

We got Plawecki for not signing Reyes.
