i wish i knew what it was that farnsworth said to darnaud on the field right after the last out. of course it was either farnsworth venting about how he had a lowsy 9th inning, or he was ripping darnaud for something darnaud had done...it would be kind of crappy of farnsworth if it was the latter, since darnaud made that game-saving tag to save farnswoth for getting a blown save.

Good job by TC tonight in handling the bullpen. Give credit when credit is due. Forget the whiners, folks, nothing will ever satisfy them, even winning.

Time to bring the gromm up... Accountants should let super 2 cheapishness slide for a reliever

It's mind boggling were over .500 with this offense. And no Parnell. And no Harvey. And a Crap GM. And a grab bag bullpen.

Before the season started who had the back end of the Mets bullpen in April being Dice K, Torres and Farnsworth? 2 of the 3 weren't even on the team to start the year. 1 was a 5th/6th starter, 1 was a long/swing man, and 1 was thought to be done and released in ST.

It's amazing how we r finding ways to pull games out. I swear if I knew the Wilpons I would scream at them and say u r one good bat and one reliever away from being a legit wild card competitor. Too bad they will never do anything it's as if they don't watch the games

ALERT: On tonight's TV shot showing the victorious Mets coming into the clubhouse, Collins caught up with Grandy & pulled him right into his office. Very odd...

That was as good of a throw by Tejada as you'll ever see.

Great call by Duda not cutting off the throw home.

Gotta credit Grandy for the 2-handed catch

@Victor Triguero  I think if he's going to go to "closer by committee", that's fine but then say that.  Don't name Farnsy the closer and then 2 days later basically say ANYBODY can be the closer.  Everyone knows the Mets have to hold this thing together with tape and chewing gum...a committee isn't gonna bother anyone.

No, don't give Terry any credit. Only blame when they lose. Maybe he's gonna give Farnsworth the day off tom. And plans on using Dice K to close.

Asked him how the hell he caught that last ball!!

All 3 executed perfectly. Anything less and he would have been safe. Yes, Tejada too.

I've watched that play over and over and over and the best part of the play IMO is the tag. If you look at it closely he is moving his glove before the ball even gets into it

@lindro88 I've got to give him credit, it was a good play by all 3. Of course Ordonez could have made that play from his knees, but then again Ordonez makes Tejada look like Tulo at Coors with the flags blowing out.

Relax, he turned around and fired blindly....the play was Kirk and travis

The big man is gonna be dealing tomorrow.

It's the defense. They never make a play like that.

Honestly, all they need is one can Murphy type bat and a really good reliever we can depend on and we can win 90. This team is gonna be a small ball team. We need ,280 hitters who don't depend on homers and a top tier pitching staff which we kind of have besides of the fact that we don't have a closer.

Grandly had a great at bat in the 8th. Really battled and drew a walk. Could be a turning point.

I was at that game. Ordonez was a special defensive player. Tejada isn't.

lindro88
lindro88

Of course he did. You think any SS would have time to do otherwise? You must be joking. That play was all three executing perfectly.

I read that 2/3 of the league are already using a different closer than the one they expected to close going into the season. Either injuries or guys losing jobs.

Terry isn't good at explaining things. He may mean if they have a save opportunity tomorrow. Farnsworth looks like he needs a couple of days off. He's not a great manager, but his team is playing hard. They aren't hitting, but are grinding out wins against real good teams.
