First of all, DW is ranked 7th among all 3rd basemans in the NL.  And you do know defense is a part of the overall statistics in coming up with who is the best or not right?  ASG is a popularity contest.  And since DW is Mr. Baseball or whatever that vote was for along with being Captain America, he has that locked.  But as much as we love DW, he isn't the best 3rd baseman in the league currently, even though I wish he was.  He hasn't been clutch at all this year, and his defense is mediocre or a little above average at best.  Check your stats man.  Whats true are the facts.

jimmy, kidd, steele...i don't know what you guys' issue is with each other nor do i care, but why don't you just take it offline? having to deal with all the negativity on this board is one thing, but this is just childish.  Seriously, give it a rest already.

Hooray for Teagarden. Unfortunately, he'll never see another fastball again. At least not one that's average.

Same lineup or fire Terry

Hopefully, TC will have the guts to play Tejada tomorrow.

Hope Daisuke's (I always hated the "Dice-K" nickname) posterior is ok - he tossed a nice game.

our new catcher doesn't know about the dimensions at Citifield yet. Hopefully nobody will fill him in.

What's the over/under on how many people scream if Tejada plays tomorrow?

Jimmy.. since you have some odd hatred for David Wright...

where was Puerto Rico's own Carlos Beltran when we need him the most?

oh yea.... stuck with a blank stare and the bat on his shoulders..

Temperature's rising....ball will start to carry a little better in Citi.

Actually, that wasn't really Tejada out there tonight. It was our old friend Valdespin, the darling of the haters, disguised as Tejada.

Does Beltran really talk like that????

A nice night folks!  A grand slam, a nicely pitched game and a timely visit by Jimmy from the Bronx.  What more could a Mets fan ask for??

Mejia threw 15 pitches...shouldn't be a problem going forward

@C.K. Dexter Haven It's not me, these 2 think I am Matt Cerrone for some bizarre reason. I have already proved that it not true. They are 2 crazy dudes.

That's because based on his hitting performance, Collins will sit him out for the next two weeks.

@Steven Matregrano Well, just because an idiot said today he isn't firing the other idiot doesn't mean we sit like good little sheep and be quiet. I'm thrilled we won today - it seems like six games ago we won - oh that's right, it HAS been six games! True Mets fans really want ALL the underachievers and choke artists to come through! We all want to see CY hit consistently as well as Grandy! But we know how the rest of the season is going to go and you're right, if that horrendous hard to look at six game losing streak didnt get TC fired, then he probably does last til Sept. But I can't wait for him to go (just like Houston and Anaheim felt)

@Chris Tario booed in every AB i think...was listening to his last AB in the car and they got him pretty good...(nice job Citi faithful)

@docj Has Terry ever posted the same lineup two nights in a row?

Wright is a good player and has been far better in the past. If he' in the asg great, but to start might be saying he's the best 3rd baseman in the nl. That's not the case.

Muhammad Qureshi

He was booed vociferously. Imagine how bad he gets booed in a place where its jammed packed, like SanFran. Man oh man I bet he gets his feelings hurt.

hankincolo

@Steven Matregrano @theglider He needs to hit line drives, not shows us he's a WTPO guy. Warning Track Power Only.

theglider

But he's playing well. Of course we need to get the young guys in and Tejada is 24 so he's too old...

@Doubleday  I think someone showed him what quality closers get paid.   He seems to be embracing closing all of a sudden

I doubt it. He gets paid enough.

@jimmybx182  So the LDS that year against the Dodgers, when Beltran went 2-14, those games didn't matter?  Or did they matter but its ok that Beltran didn't show up because we won anyway?
