I remember listening to our fearless manager in the postgame about 3 weeks ago making a joke about J lag game winning hit. It was a little floater to right field to take the lead. Just an FYI in the 10 games he has been out the Mets are two and eight. I don't think that's just a coincidence. Between the lackadaisical play in the outfield and the lack of clutch hittingwe miss JLag

We fired a manager cause we didnt win the world series, seems like decades ago

At least  in the Omar Minaya regime there wasn't an acceptance of losing. The team actually made strides toward winning.

Currently seems like there is a black cloud over this entire organization.

This must be how watching the 62 mets looked

Bat Wright leadoff, maybe then he'll cut down his swing, be more selective.

Secret to wrights sucess surround yourself with minor leaguers you look like an allstar

Sandy said 90, I say 70, if we get some breaks.

Bobby O said the pitching staff needs to do something to answer for all the up and in buzzing at Wright's helmet. Now if Harvey were pitching, this would have been done already. As a former pitcher, I think he knows what he's talking about. But who is gonna do it? Niese?

only good thing tonight was Collins was ejected so i could watch a little of the game....seems i wasnt missing much.....

I'm thinking Collins needs to tell Wright he is going to sit a game or two to get his head straight. He may need a bit of a shake-up. And frankly if I was Terry, I'd say I don't think you're tired, I'm not sure if you're hurt . I am taking you out and giving Campbell some ABs because you Captain are not helping this team. You need to get yourself right. Cheer for your teammates. Encourage them but do so from the bench. He has rested Grandy, Duda, CY, everyone. It is time to "rest" Wright home stand or not. He has to do something.

I want to know who the guy is that said that the Mets are a good team.

Brewers are a good team. Legs get em tomorrow and get a much needed series win and then sweep the padres!

@docj

We had a team of has-been back than, now we have a team of never was, or don't want to be's.

They were fun and entertaining and knew they were bad. The stadium was always filled.

@metsfan91 Good... I'm rooting for you kid, but do that for a month, then you can go back to Queens.

Cheryl Ann

It's not that he's not selective. His swing is off, has no power. Flying open, swinging all arms or rolling over. He is a hot mechanical mess.

buddyryan

They are a passive team under TC

Funny, Duda hitting .235 right now, exactly what he hit last year.

You are completely tight, but Collins will keep Flores and Campbell on the bench as they are rookies.

No team is good that is lacking at 6 positions

Not all that long ago I said we can at least be thankful we are not the Astros. I publically eat those words and apologize to the Astros.

mustang66

do you think it would be that way under wali?

Cheryl Ann

Then Harvey should talk with them. Leave Collins out of it.

Cheryl Ann

Rookie or not. The goal should be put the best team on the field. If someone isn't getting it done, give someone else a chance. I know they play the guys who make the big money but I'm not suggesting he sit Wright for a week, just a candid conversation about needing to win games. As the Captain, Wright should be willing to take a good look in the mirror and do what is best for the team.

Cheryl Ann
Cheryl Ann

Apparently not. I was using "rested" because that's what Terry always says when he sits people. He can always say he needs to get Campbell or Flores going...either way, Wright needs to step away from the line-up until he can hit again.

Marc Ramnarine

@gpopper Mets will probably find a way to lose 2 of 3 to the Padres even though the Pods aren't really lightening it up offensively either

Kyle Suta

Youre a bad fan. Your job as a fan is to root for your team until the last out. I don't care if they aren't that talented. This is still our mets. Stop being so negative mets fans and just root.

Cheryl Ann
Cheryl Ann

Not at all. Issue would have already been resolved. It has to be unnerving for Wright at this point. Did you see his poor wife behind home plate when he got buzzed tonight? But more importantly as Bobby O said, if the pitchers don't stand up for Wright and his mechanics stay like this because of it, they are hurting their team just as much for allowing teams to neutralize a key batter and throwing and head hunting to do it.

Brian Webster
Brian Webster

@Steven Matregrano @ken1010  Rookie means it's his 1st season in MLB which it is. In baseball every player spends years in the minors before they ever make it to the bigs. Some more than others. They are still rookies when they come up regardless of their age. You can be a 40yr old rookie if that's how old you are when you 1st make it to the majors.

suzyq

@Cheryl Ann I think Wright needs to go down to Triple A.  He's terrible and it's not just at home because he's not hitting anywhere else either.   He's getting almost 18 mil a year.  We didn't have a captain before and we certainly don't need one now to pat other players on the back and give post game interviews telling the media that "we're just not getting it done.  We have to do better."   WE KNOW THAT!!!  He's rested, he's just not that good.

docj's post up above said it best.  The secret to Wright's success is to surround yourself with minor leaguers and you'll look like an All Star.

I was like that when I first got to this blog lol the negativity spreads ....... But mets baseball is also very frustrating even to the perkiest of mets fans

7up17left

@Kyle Suta You are mindless....7 post season appearances in 53 years, 5 straight next to last divisional finishes...The Mets are lucky that anyone even cares anymore...The Wilpons love fans like you.  Keep being positive and maybe, just maybe by 2020 we'll be somewhat competitive again.

Kyle Suta
Kyle Suta

You stop being so damn negative.

Kyle Suta

It is frustrating and I'm tempted to be negative too but I dont. This team needs it's fans to root hard and stay positive more than ever.

mattbar

@7up17left I don't understand, if you dislike this team so much, why don't you go root for another team?

Kyle Suta
Kyle Suta

I'm so sick of fans like you that are so hypocritical. Oh the mets are terrible, seasons over wright is terrible blah blah blah. But the fact of the matter is you still watch them every night. If you "know" they're going to lose every night then why the hell do you watch them?

suzyq
suzyq

@Kyle Suta What do you think we've been doing since 2006?!?!   Ownership and the team doesn't appreciate it.  They're getting paid so what do they care if fans waste their money and time coming to watch them.

Kyle Suta
Kyle Suta

You're not a mets fan just leave. I'm not wasting any more time talking to you.

Scott Bruckenstein
Scott Bruckenstein

A real Mets fan would be pissed off at the product they give us every year, not a drone that just takes what they give us, and is happy with losing
